Used carefully, it works great!
This product is great and i trust Shiseido. It’s basically a perm, without rollers. I’ve used this twice and my hair is healthier than if I were to blow dry and iron it straight every day or using Brazilian blowout products. The only time my hair or skin has been damaged was when the so-called professionals straightened my hair for $600. Not sure what brand they used. No refunds, no apologies. In fact, they tried to blame me. So pleased we’re not limited to having the local high school dropouts destroy our hair. If you’re fearful and not sure how your hair will respond, test a small section and see how it does after a few weeks. I’m a lot more careful with my own hair than the stylist’s that are charging ridiculous prices to put a product on my hair and gossip. Covid brought to light some shady industries and finally opened up the market that was protecting stylists for the rich and famous. They’re figuring out that they make higher revenues by selling to consumers who are smarter than their stylist channel. Btw, the Shiseido Tsubaki mask is great for pre/post conditioning.

Not bad if you know what you’re doing
Edit 8.23.20I ended up doing this a second time because I don’t think I left it on long enough the first time. I had even better results the second fine. The frizz is almost 100% gone. I wash/condition a few times weekly with L’Oréal keratin caring shampoo and use Olaplex #3, #6 , and also chi leave in hair oil and let it air dry. It’s soft, silky, straight and smooth. I did accidentally permanently part my bangs in the middle though so be careful. My hair texture has been ever changing since having kids. It has settled into weird wavy frizzy and nothing I tried did much but weigh my hair down without taking the frizz. I wanted to try this to de frizz myself and make washing my hair less if a hassle. Nothing is more awful than my hair after I wash it. At least a few days in I can get a voluminous bun in. Anyways. I bleached my hair myself in February so I was a little worried about using this but I take good care of my hair and very rarely use heat. I did a test strand that came out fine so I went ahead with the whole head. I probably could have left the top layer in longer because it’s still a little fuzzy and my bangs aren’t very straight. But I was very worried about my already processed hair. It isn’t the super sleep shiny hair I was HOPING for, but the pictures are the difference in air drying. I have some Olaplex and some good hair oil so I’m hoping in time they will help settle things down. I’m also due for a good haircut with some shape lol so that will probably make a difference as well. Overall if you’re into the DIY thing and you’ve done some research into this process it was easy to do. I’m vaguely considering doing it again in a few weeks but I’m gonna have to put some serious thought into that. I may at least repeat my bangs so I don’t have to flat iron them every day to avoid fluffy bangs.

AH-MAZING!
I got a very bad short haircut on my frizzy wavy hair and was so upset. Every time I go to a hairstylist something horrible happens so I decided to do it myself.I deep conditioned my hair everyday for a few days before, as instructed. I followed the instructions carefully, worked in small areas at the time and couldn’t be happier. My has has never looked this shine, healthy, soft and manageable. Not only it got rid of frizz and wave, it treated the hair!!I’m so happy, love it!

Fried my hair instantly
The underneath layers did fine with this, but as soon as my top layer touched the product it turned to instant rubber and fell out. I do not bleach my hair but do flat iron everyday. I use regular hair coloring on my hair every 3-4 months. So it may not be perfectly healthy but definitely not that unhealthy where it should turn to rubber.

Great substitute!!!!
I’m not a hair professional so I don’t know hair, but I do know my hair. The girl that normally does my hair stopped responding to my texts, so I needed something desperately. I decided to try this and watch a bunch of YouTube videos. I bought the hair protectant separately that my hair girl wasn’t even using. I love how it came out for my first time. My curls are tough so I had to repeat the straightener 3xs. So far so good! Immediately after I detached my hair in deep conditioning. I feel like the weight of my curls has been lifted off my shoulders.

Very weak
I have curly, Caucasian, virgin hair.I applied the first solution very generously, almost 2/3 of the bag. After applying, I waited 1 hour and 49 minutes (!) as I kept doing the strand test and the knot kept opening quickly. The last time I did japanese straightening, using Liscio - normal strength, the knot got tighter after ~30 minutes. So at the 1hr 49min mark I thought that the product is probably expired/damaged and decided to wash it off. After washing my hair I could see that my hair was much straighter, so the solution WAS working, although very very slowly.I followed the rest of the steps and ended up with wavy hair. It's better than nothing because my hair is less frizzy now. But something was definitely wrong with the straightener solution.

Works at it claimed just have to be patience.
This product works as claimed just have to be patience and keep track of time once the lotion applied on your hair.Work one small protion of hair at a time and quickly to ensure that lotion N1 doesn’t sit too long in your hair while working on the remaining portions of your hair. This will maintain all hair are treated with lotion N1 effectively.Take about 5-10 strands of your hair between your fingers, try pulling its end, if they can stretch longer without breaking, it means your hair is “ready” and proceed to rinsing/ flat ironing and then add Lotion 2. If you can’t apply all of your hair quickly while the early applied portion is “ready” for next steps, try spraying water on them to prevent over processed while working on the remaining of your hair. During the “pulling” test, if your hair breaks easily it means they are not ready and leave the lotion a little longer, check every 1-2 mins.Apply generous amount of lotion 2 making sure it is applied to every strands of your hair. Leave in no longer than the specified time.Yes, it’s tedious, shampoo/ lotion N1/ rinse/ flat iron/ lotion 2 and then rinse again, the whole process took me 4 hours. That is why it cost a lot to do at the salon.

Amazing product and very worth it
These are amazing! Bought these instead of going to salon which is over $200cad. But at home you need someone to do the rebond for you of course! The shipping was kind of ahead of time, but it was worth the wait. Overall the rebonding process took about 6hrs. I got my hair rebonded on beginning of june, and now its august my hair is still straight as ever. My previous hair was extredibly damaged and fuzzy. The first 2 weeks after the rebond my hair was still super shiny and slick. But now it’s not really the same as it was after the rebond, but it’s still very straight! Overall it’s very good!!

Great product, worked better than I hoped for.
Great product but do not use if you bleach your hair. It will do some damage on unbleached hair as well but I found it wasn’t too bad and after a little trim my hair was back to being shiny and healthy again. If you have dyed hair be forewarned that it does lift hair colour a little as well. It does really work well just follow the instructions to a tee. I was expecting a stronger smell but it really wasn’t too bad at all.

It works if you know what you are doing..
Comments like "it burned/destroyed my hair" just mean that they didn't read anything and they just blame the product instead of their ignorance... If you read and educate yourself on how to do this procedure, this is a super affordable way to straighten your hair.
