Vision Quest Tarot Deck

This is my second purchase of this deck. Originally connected with it at my local WOOmart. I have never so thoroughly connected with a deck. EVERY time I use it, whether or not I have an intentional spread, the cards jump out of the deck. I have never given myself a reading that didn’t make perfect sense and deliver great insight. I’m NOT an experienced tarot reader, but I have dabbled for more than 15 years. The accompanying book is so helpful, especially with its keywords. The inward and outward messages always bring the picture together. Lately I’ve been enjoying a basic compass spread and directing that specifically to something that’s been on my mind. I just did a reading for myself that made my night/week/month!

I was a bit skeptical that this deck would exploit American Indian spiritual practices. After I read so many good reviews about it, I took a chance. I'm glad I did. Yes, the the beautiful art of this deck does depict American Indians in a idealized, romanticized manner, but at the same time the depiction is sensitive and and seems respectful.This is a deck that honors the Earth and our connection to her and to one another. It focuses more on American Indian values rather than ceremonial practices. The four suits are water, air, earth and fire and the deck is loosely patterned on RWS deck with some exceptions. The Fool has become the Clown, the Magician is the Medicine Man, and the Empress is the Grandmother in this deck for example. Despite these and other changes in the cast of characters, the meanings of the Major Arcana and the Minors,are easily discerned. The Minor Arcana cards are illustrated, and the card backs that show an eagle soaring across the sky, are not reversible.The LWB, which is 108 pages long, gives the essence of each card and then details its inner message and outward manifestation. There are five spreads in the book. According to the author and artist this deck was inspired by American Indian culture and is intended to be a useful key and guide to the spiritual journey.I'm glad I purchased the Vision Quest Tarot because it seems a sincere effort to present another point of view on the universal journey of the soul that is part of being human, no matter what our culture of origin. I liked that this deck's creators did not pose as medicine people or try to co-opt American Indian Traditions. They seem to be humble and earnest. The deck is filled with uplifting insights and inspirations. The full readings I've done with it have been accurate. I've also been pulling a card each morning and carrying the message with me throughout the day.

So many people are exploring vision quest. I wanted to be able to help myself and others fully enjoy the experience. I'm studying them now. I'll be ready someday to assist my family and friends with their vision quest.

This deck was published in 1999 and I really can see that the art,quality and style really rings true to that era in tarot decks. I was young in 99’ but I remember seeing decks of this quality at the shops I would go to.It comes in a cheap fold-top box that is pretty standard for many tarot decks and I don’t mind that too much.The cards themselves are pretty slippery, but I actually love that they are so easy to fan out. I found that they were slightly less slippery after I edged my cards with waterproof midnight blue and turquoise inks.I love the artwork in this deck, it looks like the environment and people’s depicted in this deck spans across the U.S like the PNW all the way to the red rocks in Arizona and the whole of the SW and North East. I do have some concerns regarding cultural appropriation and inaccurate depictions of indigenous peoples and their history. I will have to look into that.The backs, backs, oh the backs of these cards are beautiful!I’m glad this was reprinted and is available.

A wonderful and unique tarot. I have found it provides some marvelously specific answers to questions asked at the right moment and in the right spirit. Be warned that in the small explanatory booklet that accompanies the deck, there are a crazy number of typos and wrong words.I suspect the optical recognition software was not working correctly -because the original larger size book that accompanied the deck {it belonged to a friend who had an earlier edition] had none of the mistakes , so far as I recollect. You'll probably be able to figure which words are out of place. I will keep working with this deck and post an updated review. The art, of course, is beautifully and some of the Major Arcana cards have been re-conceptualized.

Wow, does this deck resonate with me! It's eerie how spot on my readings are with these cards! The artwork is lovely and the explanations in the guidebook are succinct. What I especially like is that even with "negative" cards, the guidebook points to the lessons or gifts within the situation and gives guidance as to how to navigate the situation. I will be using this deck lots for years to come.

This deck is gorgeous. The colors and illustrations really stood out to me so I decided to purchase it. I was so happy when I finally got them! I did a reading right away from the booklet. It was such a good reading that I had to actually pause and reflect on the messages.This deck has such good and calming energy. Healing also. It’s powerful. I haven’t done a reading since I got it, because I felt like it told me what I needed to know. But I look forward to working more with it as time goes on. It has become one of my favorites.

I was drawn to the spiritual artwork of this deck and have been surprised to learn its use is more productive for human questions, more spiritually-oriented questions, but not at all for political questions. It must be named, ‘Vision Quest,’ for a reason. I can highly recommend this deck. It speaks with a soft, clear and honest voice.

This is a recently purchased deck so I've only used it a couple of times... but I really like it. The images are nice. Some of the Major Arcana are renamed. The one I remember clearly is the Chariot card which is called Spiritual Warrior and the guidebook information for that card was really good. I think you'll like this deck if you're drawn to the Native American theme.

ネイティブ世界を色濃くイメージしているため、大アルカナカードの名称も一般的なカードの名称とは結講違っています。ただ、数字記号はふられているので、名称が違くても判別は出来ます。小アルカナは（ソード・ペンタクルなどの）一般的な分類ではなくエレメント（火・水など）分類になっています。また、コートカードの名称が（キング・クイーン・ナイト・ペイジ）→（Father・Mother・Sun・Daughter）になっています。このカードの製造元の問題だと思うのですが、外箱がビニール梱包などされておらず、その為か、移送・在庫保管時に結講傷んだ感じがあります。中のカードはビニール梱包されていたので綺麗で、カードの質も良かったのですが、外ケースの状態だけはとても残念です。
