The lead is a bit thicker around than I thought it would be, which is great for my German Shepherd, but if you have a smaller dog, it might be too big for them. The quality is excellent, I'm very pleased with that, but the reflectiveness of it isn't as bright as I thought it would be. I get up at 4:30am to walk my dog before work, and I bought this lead primarily for the reflectiveness quoted in the description, but I don't think an oncoming car would notice it any more than I do walking right next to it (which isn't very much) so I'll have to test it out with my husband to see if it's noticeable to an oncoming car.**Update**Tested out the leash, and it is very bright and reflective to oncoming lights, so I am very pleased and satisfied with this overall purchase!

In my opinion, reflective materials are a MUST if you live in areas where you share the road with cars because there are no sidewalks. And even in communities with sidewalks, you will still benefit from being more visible, especially when crossing the road.If you are considering this lead, you probably did your homework and figured out that a slip lead is a great style of lead. So I won't go into detail about how convenient it is to not need a collar or how effective corrections are on this lead for walks if used properly. So for the remainder of this review, I'll go over why you want this lead specifically.Pros:Great quality - from the materials, to the stitching, to the embossed soft leather.360 degree reflectivity - reflective materials intertwined throughout the lead.Thick - it's a ½ inch in diameter and feels appropriate for a med to large dog.Cons:Relatively expensive - it's priced at the higher end of the spectrum.Thick - too bulky for a small dog.Other comments:This lead was 6 ft long before they added a loop for your hand and the dog's neck. In practice you can expect about 5 ft between your hand and the dog.All in all, a great design that incorporates safety while staying pleasing to the hand and eye.In final, the cost vs benefit of buying leads/leashes with reflective materials is extremely in favor of buying this lead. If this product does its job for you once, it's well worth its premium cost. I took the time to write this lengthy review because I hope to encourage you to purchase this or similar products, as I firmly believe it will save dog-loving people from injury or death.

My grandpup walks very nicely with this lead. Your dog has to learn to let you slide it over his nose.It might not work on a dog whose head is sleek and the back strap could slide off, i.e. my pitbull mix.I have noticed some wear on the strap where it rubs against the metal, so be sure to check it regularly.

It helps with walk my pack because very sturdy material. Even vet liked the reflective of the lead.

Love the reflective part - makes me feel safer as I'm walking in the dark. For me and my dog.
