I was very disappointed with this toy
I was very disappointed with this toy. I have bought toys made by National Geographic in the past and have been thrilled by the quality. But this did not meet the standards I have grown to expect. The sound quality was scratchy and skipped. Half the time it didn't give you the information on the planet that was selected. For example, I pushed Mars and it gave me information on Jupiter. Also the package had been previously opened and then taped back together.

Interactive Planetarium
The interactive planetarium is a great toy to teach kids about our solar system. I would like to mention however, that when this toy was shipped to me, it looked like it had been through a dust storm in the Gobi desert. It was almost brown with dust. Nasty. It cleaned up and will be given as a Birthday present in December to my son who will be 6. I have a game just like this for the United States and insects for him. He loves them and has learned a LOT from both! I can only assume that he will learn a lot from this interactive toy as well. I just wish the shipper had more respect for their buyers and had cleaned it before shipping. I can only hope that it works when it's opened on his Birthday!

I was super excited for this toy but was disappointed when it arrived. It was very cheap quality even for thirty dollars. I returned it and got my money back.

Cool till it dies and the company won't help you
This toy is very educational and includes a lot of information about space. Unfortunately, it's not very durable. It was treated with care, but the electronic board has obviously gone kaput because you can only turn it on now with the Reset button. And after you do that, none of the buttons respond at all. If you push the ON/OFF button, it tells you it's turning off. Then you can turn it back on with the Reset button again. Not a whole lot of fun or education. That's all it does now.I wrote to the company, Scientific Toys, and they told me to take it back to the store. I wrote again and said it had been past 30 days and asked if they could help me. No response. I wrote again and got no response. I wrote one final time and said that I would like to be able to leave a good review on Amazon about their company and product, and that I would wait a few days to hear from them before posting a review. That was about 2 weeks ago.So I wouldn't buy this product (pretty expensive for something that doesn't work at all!) or any toy from this company since they don't stand behind their products. They just ignore you.Too bad. Scientific Toys Interactive Planetarium

Expensive
All of these toys by interactive are expensive. Some how i picked this up during Christmas at the food store for 12.99.They did not have any other of their products. The store most likely lost money on them. The toy itself is alot of fun for me as i was always interested in space and the planets. The questions them self's are not easy but once you play it for awhile you can almost memorize the answers. It comes with cheap batteries so have some double A's handy, also it's all plastic so don't leave it out on the floor. Overall i would say its for someone ten years and up.Even for a sixty-three year old like me.

Good and educational
I got this toy when I was about five, and at that time, I didn't understand a thing about it, but now I realize that it is very educational, but it's for someone that's about eight and up. As for the durability, yes, it is made of cheap plastic, but if it is lying in your room for a couple of years, all you need to do is switch the batteries and it will work again. If you're constantly using it, then you should be careful with it(like everything) and take good care of it. I've had this product for years and it still works fine.

cheaply made
I was very disappointed in this toy. For $55 I expected something more than cheap plastic. Got it for my six year old grandson and EVEN HE said it wasn't much fun as he couln't understand the person speaking. He had no interest in it after about 30 minutes. I expected much more.

Perhaps too serious for young kids
The quiz questions have too many large numbers, ie diameter of planets, distance from the sun. Voice recording is abrasive and bossy. May intimidate shy children. It may be difficult holding most children's attention. Better for adults who want to brush up on science.
