If you are reading this, you have a Maverick X3 and you hate that D@*n noise at about 5k rpm! I installed this kit and am very satisfied--it does the trick! Yes, you can still hear the noise as your rpm's go above and below the 5k rpm mark, but it is DRAMATICALLY less irksome than it was before. On my last trip out I took along the ear protection just in case, but I did not use them...for me that is no longer an issue, so I highly recommend the product.Other reviewers complain about the installation template, and that criticism is fair. When you tape the template to the housing, make sure it is straight and the corners are true and the template is laying flat. Use more tape than you think you need, and take your time drawing your cut lines so that they are square. (if you don't, you may find yourself spending a lot of time with a file to make the new 'grille' fit in.) I used a drill to cut out the corners, and a small-wheel angle grinder for the straight lines. Be patient and you can have a professional looking installation. Enjoy, and ride safely!

Overall is 4 stars because the price is higher than what it should be, but mainly because the template to cut the box with is a joke. it's a piece of paper... what i did instead was put a little paint on the bottom of the piece and pressed it against the air box, then i cut it from that. everything else fits and works as advertised. bottom line, I would buy this overpriced piece again just to save my ears.

This product works and works well. I would be willing to pay more if they would send a actual template instead of a printed piece of paper with poor sample photos and a template that you have to cut out yourself. Improvements need to be made on the instructions and template. This is why i am giving four stars instead five. After a little work this has been a great addition to my Maverick X3.

It's hard to spend this much money on 2 piece of plastic and a wedge of foam but I decided that I wanted a clean installation rather that a hack job. It definitely blocks the high pitch ear wrenching noise to tolerable. Highly recommend. It was a bit challenging to drill the holes for the clips and one ear broke off but with some JB weld it's back to normal. I also glued some foam to the back side of the turbo access panel. It seems to help as well.

This helped quite my intake on my X3max BIG time. It don't have the ear piercing whine that used to start around 4500rpm. Very pleased. Worth the $100I've seen some folks do a DIY, but it's not a clean look. This kit looks factory.

Took a chance and bought this because when driving on the street without a helmet or headset, the high pitch whining noise was unbearable. It's now gone! Great product and takes around 30 minutes to install.
