The o rings are stainless steel

Q: Are the plugs stainless steel and can each be worn for weeks?

Yes they are and yes but would definitely take them out to get washed.

Q: "The item can be worn for a long time, but in the bath, sleep, exercise and sweat, need to take it off" Why? Does anyone just leave them in?

I purchased mine over a year ago and only ever take my stretcher out to clean it and my ear when showering and then put it straight back in. I have found no issues from constantly wearing my stretcher as the quality of the item is excellent
