Continental4040305 OE Technology Series Multi-V Belt

If you are looking for a belt for your 4th generation Maxima, this MIGHT be the one you need. There are 2 belts on the maxima--both turned by the crank shaft (which is directly behind the right front tire). If you remove the tire (and intermediate plastic covers), you will see the crank shaft in the middle with 2 belts--one running towards the left (back) and one towards the right (front). This belt is the one running towards the BACK of the car--it is a shorter belt sometimes called the "power steering" belt. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY belt that readily shows up when I search for a "serpentine belt 99 maxima", even though it is NOT the "serpentine" belt. So I bought this one, and it was not the one I needed.The longer belt that runs towards the front of the car, and connects to the alternator and AC Compressor (and it tensioned using a tension pulley wheel) is a DIFFERENT belt. DOES NOT FIT 2003-2005 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION 8Unfortunately I was misled at first thinking this product # would fit my car, but Amazon quickly corrected that and I had the correct belt shipped and on my door step in a few days. Completely hassle free.With that said, Goodyear makes a quality belt at a reasonable price. I currently have the correct Gatorback for my Evo 8 installed (Part #4060705) and operates like it was designed to. Only thing noticed was a very subtle whirring sound. I hear it's normal and should disappear once you put some miles on it. Also, the belt fits snug on the pulleys and will appear a little too tight at first but again, it will relax into the correct tolerances.

Another excellent quality belt. These used to be good year brand and now continental has taken them over. I was looking for the gator series because their extra tough extra quality and well-made. I was changing the alternator belt on my Nissan quest and a power steering belt was also behind it so that's why I bought this one to match and replace it due to the fact the power steering belt had never been replaced. Very happy with it

This belt shipped quickly and saved me when i was in need. The alternator belt snapped on my 2005 Mitsubishi lancer one night and i cried. Thankfully this belt came quickly and my car was back on the road in no time. 2 days in fact. The price was cheaper than the parts store and it was delivered on a Sunday. the belt is stronger than the original one i had on my car it seems like it will last a long time.

Don't have much to say about this belt, it is performing properly and as expected. I do like the way the ordering process went, it is hard to order the wrong thing with the software used in the order system.

I heard that these are the best so I bought some. Seem to work fine except they were very noisy on start up. Typical belt squeal except the thing wasn't loose or tight. A little bit of crayon fixed that right up. No seriously, if your belts aren't in bad shape, and not too loose or tight, hit the inside with some crayolas and it'll fix it right up.

Not really a "serpentine" belt; at least not for my Maxima. This (for my use) is the Power Steering belt. Works great - fits fine.

Belt fit my nissan quest perfectly.....smooth and silent operation ever since (6 months.) Not fun to change, so do it once with a good belt!
