Spice Ratchet Blossom Multi-Use Purple Flower Trivet

I've had one of these for like 8 years, and one of the most used items in my kitchen. Should have bought a few. Folds to almost nothing for storage.

Although it’s advertised as a trivet, I bought to leave on the table as a conversation piece. However, I had intended to buy the smaller one instead. After realizing it was bigger than expected (my in-laws have and we love messing around with them) I then bought the smaller ones i originally intended to get. I’ll keep both (smaller ones come in a set of 2 - Blossom 16847 Mini Multi-Purpose Expanding Flower Silicone Trivet Hot Pad Coaster (Set of 2), 5.5").This larger one rated here is almost 8 1/2” from tip to tip and twice as thick as the 5 1/2” set (just shy of being 1/2” thick). I’ll keep this larger one and use it as an actual trivet, but will probably use on top of a folded towel or potholder for super hot pots/pans. Most of my trivets stand higher than under 1/2” so that would be a concern for me with really hot stuff.With the 5 1/2” set being even thinner I wouldn’t recommend as trivets, but they sure are fun to play with at the table so I suggest considering purchasing them, too. Especially if you’re buying this large one as a gift, adding the small set would be nice. They look like flowers on the table and people can’t keep their hands off them.

It is great for water bath canning. It is great for a trivet. I love it so much I am going to buy more. You would be crazy not to order this product!

I have mixed feelings about this product. In some ways they do things other products don't but also they are not quite as slick at the video would have you believe. I bought one and liked it enough that I bought another, as well as a couple small ones, but still wish they were a little more like what I see in the video. The most critical deficit is when it comes to bowls or cups (which is what I wanted it for, for use in the microwave) it really only works well on items that are exactly the right size and shape. And with mugs you have to undo and redo them to deal with the handle. Just a little awkward and floppy for some applications, which is not evident in the expert handling of the woman in the video. If you just want to hook them up and use as a flower shaped trivet sitting flat on a table, they work great for that.

Bought this for our home but didn’t expect it to come so “packaged.” On the one hand I wish there was less plastic in the packaging; on the other it means it would make a great housewarming or other little gift! Seems sturdy and well made, not flimsy or cheapo at all. This OG version is a little more expensive than similar knockoffs on Amazon but the quality is superb—def worth the extra.

Would have preferred the vibrant lime as shown in the photo. Not worth figuring out how to return online, which is unfortunate since I purchased as a gift for someone else.I have one of these in another color, and it's an indispensable tool in my kitchen. It's a flexible pot holder that takes up no space when folded up, use it as a canning rack to turn any of my large pots into canners (12qt through 20 qt). Use it between 2 pots a spacer for ice water baths. Use it as a grip under bowls to prevent slipping while one handed whisking/stirring or kneading. Would gladly throw away all of my other trivets in place of this multi-use kitchen tool.

This is as functional as it is attractive. I didn't pay much attention when I bought it, aside from the fact that it was adorable, silicone, and had great reviews. I was shocked to see how tiny this folds up in person, and how flexible it is in general. When I returned to Amazon and did some reading I realized this can be used a number of ways/shapes. It's really quite versatile: combine with another to create a larger trivet, anchor an item (with its grippy silicone surface), wrap around hot items (not just under!), use with both rectangular and circular dishes, etc. It's small storage is a huge plus for anyone with a small kitchen - normal trivets can be thin, but they have to be stored over/under items which can be a pain. I find this takes up a nice small portion of a drawer and doesn't require any fuss to retrieve it when needed. The only downside to this, in my opinion, is that it doesn't double the way some silicone trivets do for removing items from the oven. I think it's worth the sacrifice considering the added pros you do get, and the fact that I prefer a solid oven mitt anyway.

I love this little trivet. I actually use it as a canning "rack" at the bottom of a large pot. Doesn't take up much room and won't rust. The flower design is fun too.
