For the price, worth it
I debated buying the Oxo brand for $80 because of the Japanese blade, but then realized I’m better of saving my money for better things and bought this one instead. So far...no regrets! The blades are easy to adjust and switch around, the slicer is pretty steady and doesn’t make to fear for your fingers! And the pins in the safety pusher are much longer and grip better compared to many other mandolines out there.Couple handy hints: one, slice with the device facing away from you, vertically. Don’t try to use it sideways, the item you’re slicing will slip and you will hurt your arm or shoulder or hand in the process. Second, make sure the device is sitting flush on the surface so it doesn’t rock! Do not slice over a bowel or into a dish, put down a dish towel or a paper towel and then go to town slicing. And, third and finally, for anything that you’re slicing that is super tall vertically (yam, potato, zucchini) start off without using the grey and white safety pusher or you won’t be able to push down on firmer, tougher textured items. Yes, yes, it’s a blade, you think I’m crazy for suggesting this, but the clear plastic guard on the bottom will prevent your hand from going anywhere near the blade and you can’t get good force pushing town with the safety pusher if the item is too tall - the item you’re slicing will wobble and fall over. Once you start to feel your hand touch the top of the plastic guard, then grab the pusher and use the pins to stab the item!Easy to figure out settings - adjust the knob on the left for 4 different thickness types. Move the center knob over to the right for thicker shredding and all the way over far right for thin shredding. Lift the metal flap up to expose the blade, then pull the knob on the far right (the only knob with no markings on the device) to flip the blade around to patterned cut setting! The metal flap lifting up is also great for cleaning. I would recommend drying it right away if you can just to make sure it won’t rust (it shouldn’t but better to take care of a new item properly from the start!)

All in one..
I have owned mandoline slicers in past, but never used them much due to 1) too many attachments 2) blade not sharp enough. I am pleased to say i have been using this one daily in my kitchen. Its only one piece with all attachments in-built , that can be changed with levers on side. There are 3 levers to change thickness, crinkle mode and chopping size. The blade is pretty sharp, so i didn't had to put any effort cutting. Definitely don't slice without its cover, its very sharp(in good way).Clean up is easy, jusy rinse under warm water. It folds nicely so not much footprint while storing. Finally a practical mandoline slicer!

ONE YEAR'S USE
I purchased this back in October of 2019 and the first one they sent me was defective. The blade was warped and the blade adjustment didn't function smoothly. The replacement unit did work but a little over one year later, the unit is beginning to fall apart. The glue that keeps the plastic parts together has failed and the pieces are starting to separate. Because of this the cutting action is not as smooth now as it was initially. For the initial outlay of $30, I think I got my money's worth but I feel it should have lasted at least two years before needing replacement.

Worth The Investment. Must have for the kitchen!
Ok, so the kitchen tool is a work of art. It's like a human; you have to understand it first to use it properly; otherwise, your experience will be a fail. My wife was the first one to try it out, and instantly, she hated it! She thought it was useless cause it just didn't work for her and she hadn't invested the time to read the instructions properly. However, when it was my turn to use, I got everything cutup within seconds. It seems like a lot to go through the instructions, but it's so worth it. Every time you are chopping up your vegetables, it saves you 80% of the time spent cutting otherwise. I would highly recommend this slicer to anybody whos in the kitchen daily cutting up things. Even works well with deli sandwich fresh meat, that's a complete bonus!

Dial-in a setting
Wow! Six thicknesses, two julienne settings and a reversible blade for "curly". I've had it less than a week so I've only used it on potatoes and carrots. In my first experiments, I found I can actually make chips. It cuts that fine. Makes perfect fries and ridged vegetables. Tried to make waffle fries. 1st setting is too thin and 2nd is too thick for well made waffle fries, and, I presume, any other 'waffle' vegetable. However, makes excellent ridged vegetables. 2nd setting still thin enough for chips. Excellent product.

Can't Cut Waffle Fries
I bought this specifically because it said that it could make waffle fries. It cannot make waffle fries, so it is being returned, along with a this review.I made a few waffle fries using a manual crinkle cutter, and the reason why it does not work with the mandolin is apparent: The ribbom is the wrong shape. It needs greater "amplitude" in the crinkles to get a good waffle cut, and the slide support piece is too flimsy, resulting in uneven cuts. The things you see as waffle cut are very thin, and would not make good fries. Maybe chips.

Makes slicing a breeze!
First of all, this mandolin is extremely sharp and can be very dangerous if you don't use it properly and don't take the necessary precautions using it. I suggest getting a metal 'chain mail' style glove to use if you are going to be doing a lot of slicing to avoid any accidents.I purchased this to be able to slice vegetables from my garden so that I could dehydrate them for winter use. Unlike some other products available, the slicing blade is fixed to the slicing bed so there is no chance of it becoming dislodged and making slices uneven. This model comes with an all metal slicing bed, which makes it feel very sturdy and less of a chance for slipping and unsafe slicing.Mine had a problem when it arrived, the slicing bed was not adjustable so you would be stuck with very thin slices, fortunately my husband was able to take it apart and fix it and now I am able to enjoy different thicknesses. I will definitely purchase this again when it comes time to replace the one I have now, I am very pleased with how easy it is to use and clean.
