I loved all the rivalry in this story. It made it very humorous. There's just something special about small town gossip and hierarchy. I really enjoyed reading this one!

I liked the characters . It was a busy story for sure. I don't understand why the abused women issue was included could have been added in a sequel story. I'm glad Cathy finally got her courage and stood up for herself. I was hoping Jack ended up marrying one of the women. Excitement followed Agnes..

Omg! This was so good. Aunt Agnes was a hoot! I should've known she knew the whole time. A must read!

Maybe I liked this book so much because I was born and raised in Texas. But it is hysterical and reminds me so much is Steel Magnolias in a way. In small towns everyone does know everyone’s business. But it was a very fun read and I have always been a big fan of Carolyn Browns writing.

...you might not believe these characters could be real. But they are! Does not even have to be limited to small towns, could be a school, a long running business with minimal turn over - anyplace where females in particular gather into various cliques over time. Read and see which character you are...or could you be a unique combination?

Fun and easy read…ending came quickly and not sure it was perfect ending. Overall enjoyable story that will make you laugh.

Boy was I surprised when I read this book. I have read almost all of Carolyn Browns books and loved them all. This one was really surprising. Most of her books are about the people who live in small towns. It was hilarious to read, couldn't wait to see what happened next. Very funny and most enjoyable.

The two books I’ve read so far by this author are not my usual read, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie, innocent conniving, and brilliant manipulation to achieve what the ladies’ want. Although the language is a little rough, it somehow fits the characters’ personality and is entertaining.

Very enjoyable travelling read

I already bought, read & ejoyed this as "What happens in Texas" aka The blue ribbon jalapeno societym. Now I feel ripped off & swindled out of my 8 AUD. Not happy, Carolyn :(
