These are the BEST spikes on the market. Do not buy any other ones. These are super sturdy and go well in either by hand or w a small mallet. The only thing the caps break sometimes. So just tap right in the middle and not too hard. Wish these were a bit cheaper but what can you do? You pay for quality.

I have tried A LOT of weed barrier hold downs and this product is just amazing! These spikes are super strong and can be driven in by a hand sledge without any issues. The spikes are flexible enough to prevent breakage (other spikes bend then snap and are extra brittle) and have arrow shaped grips along the shaft to keep them from pulling out of the ground. The heads are large enough to lock the weed barrier down tight. The spikes are unaffected by the weather and I have even driven them into the ground in snow and into frozen soil. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and Made in the USA!

The head breaks occasionally (say 10%) when hammering down (even with rubber mallet)

So I used them to stake down turf in my play area. They wen't in well and are holding it good after 3 months. When I hit a rock it bends/breaks them. Also if you need to remove them it's a 50/50 chance you will break it.

They worked great better than the stakes that cane with the no dig edgings

I ordered these stakes to secure the ends of Dewitt sunbelt fabric for extra support. While these are much better than metal fabric stakes the heads break off frequently during installation. There is a seam in the middle of the stake head that causes the head to split apart. I asked before purchase if I could use a mallet with these stakes without them breaking. I was told by the seller yes. However, that is not the case. The head breaks in half majority of the time even with strikes on center. I live in California. I don't have clay or rocky soil. The stakes that did not break hold the fabric very well. The prongs on the stake grip the dirt and fabric securely. I would probably purchase again if the price was lower since I have to add more for the breakage that occurs. I love the fact they are made in the US.

Made in the USA. Easier to hold and use than the galvanized pins. They don’t bend like the pins do when you hit a rock. Well made product, worked better than expected. Will be buying more!

They came quick and are very strong. I pounded them into the clay and they bounced off the rocks and went in nice. The clay was wet but I was still impressed I would buy them again.
