Worth every penny
Been using this and a similar one with a wire handle all summer. They both work great. Best swatters I’ve had in decades of wacking flies. This one has a nice sturdy handle and the leather is flippy enough to even get the flies who keep landing in the corner of the window. I have’t missed yet.

Everyone needs this
This is no cheap flyswatter. Our old flyswatters always came apart, broke, or swung so far backwards that we couldn’t even catch a fly. This is a whole new ballgame here. It’s made of leather and is thick yet pliable ... one swat and that’s it ... from flies, to quick cockroaches, to huge water bugs ... this is the best ... I wish we had one earlier..... I am terribly frightened of those huge water bugs flying at me, and this one can actually get them ... it’s much heavier than plastic ones ... and larger too.

Extremely Satisfying
I'm a better swatter with this and it's very satisfying how effective it is. It may not quite deserve the label "heavy duty" though. The first one I received broke. But I admit that perhaps the satisfying feeling of the kill made me a bit over-enthusiastic. To the credit of the seller they promptly sent a replacement. I'll go just a little easier on the flies with swatter #2. But those flies don't stand a chance against this thing.Recommended.

Great fly swatter
Really like this fly swatter. It has a solid round wood handle that won’t bend like the metal handled ones, which gives you more control when swatting a fly. And the leather business end of it is sturdy and unlikely to fall apart like the plastic ones, unless you’re swatting flies on barbed wire fencing.

Cheap handle
I was very excited for this fly swatter. Most plastic and wire ones are garbage. It broke within the first 30 minutes I took it out of the box. The leather held up great but the balsa wood handle snapped where they whittle it down to attach the leather piece. Pretty bummed out, your better off buying half a dozen cheap plastic ones for less then this one.

Comes in a plastic wrapper
I really love this plastic free fly swatter. It's well made and really works for murdering flies. No, it wasn't cheap, but really my only complaint is that it came in a plastic bag. I don't know why is would need this wrapper, and it's frustrating that an otherwise plastic free item has this packaging. Please just send without the the wrapper.

Talk about old school
I recently bought some plastic fly swatters and talk about junk. Hit the fly dead on and nothing. I was looking for something that actually works and ran across this swatter. My grandmother was Pennsylvania Dutch from Schuylkill county. She used to have me run around her house when we would visit and have me swat flies for her. Her leather swatter had a slightly geometric pattern but it was in all other aspects just like this one. This fly swatter is just as effective as that one nearly 70 years ago. Nice to hit one of those buggers and know it is a goner. Highly recommended. Kannst du Micka fange?

This is the Swatter of Death
$18 seems outrageous for a fly swatter when you can buy 6 plastic ones for $12. But if you are serious about killing flies and not just scaring them, this swatter is the one to go with. Inside of rigid plastic, it uses a pliable leather flap which flattens against the surface it hits. Therefore it collapses on the fly fully. If you want something that works well and will last for years, then this swatter is for you. Otherwise, stick with the worthless plastic ones and stay frustrated with their performance.
