I know there are a lot of hard core cooks who insist on making a roux and doing everything from scratch, but this stuff makes good tasting gumbo in a fraction of the time. I've used it several times now and it always results in a great tasting dish with a lot less effort.

I’ve done the normal roux from scratch for years and years, however, this is an easy, delicious and quick gumbo mix. I use it only for the Roux (it says it anll you need to add is meat) but I s way better if you add fresh traditional gumbo ingredients: the holy Trinity vegetables, optional okra, and my choice of meat protein. It’s fantastic and fool proof. Highly recommended and much easier than the jar types.

Just used this last night and it was very good . So easy to use and tastes great. Thickens up and cuts a lot of time from making it from scratch.

I was tired of making gumbo from scratch, making the roux was just too much work. I researched the internet and found this base. I just made it tonight and it was great! It was so easy to use. Some reviews said it was too salty, so I used a reduced-sodium chicken broth and added meat and vegetables. It was delicious! Will definitely be using this base from now on.

My wife cooks with Louisiana Fish Fry products, and they make everything delicious.

Hard to find item and worked out great for our holiday meal!
