Spenco Men's Yumi Leather Sandal

I've had foot problems stemming from high arches for about a year now. It's caused plantar fasciitis and various other serious problems all the way from the forefoot up through the ankles and into the knees and hips so my footwear choices have become critical. Due to my inability to go barefoot, I was pleased to find that there were some summer options in the form of orthotic sandals that I could wear around the house or at the beach and after some research I narrowed it down to the Spenco Yumi and the Vionic (Orthaheel) Wave. It was a tough choice because the Vionics have a higher arch which I would have preferred but the Spencos boast a metatarsal pad. It's not a big one but for me every little bit helps.Since every foot is different these won't work for everyone but I feel comfortable recommending them to just about anyone whether you have flat feet or high arches because they seem to be able to help a lot of people. If you have some of the highest arches ever seen then these might not be enough for you and I would recommend the Vionics or look into other options. The build quality is really good and they're quite comfortable. They're also quite handsome and you won't stand out at the beach or the mall as the dork in orthotics. I have been pleased with my purchase and I would buy them again.For those who are interested here are some observations and random facts. These shoes do run a little big as mentioned. I wear a 10.5 but ordered a 10 and they fit well. I also have wide feet and usually wear a 4E and my feet take up about every inch of real estate available but are still comfortable. If you have really narrow feet these might feel a little big. The heel is pretty deeply cupped and has pretty good motion control if that's a concern. The first day of wearing these the thong between my toes hurt like heck but it didn't take long to get used to. It doesn't say it in the description but these do have the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal Of Acceptance. These are waterproof and can be worn at the pool or beach without damaging them. Hopefully this review helps and if you're on the fence I say go for it.Update: Been wearing these every summer for almost 4 years now and aside from being stained by dirt they still work and feel great! They've really helped relieve pain. Totally worth the money.

I have owned a lot of different flip flops, from the very cheap to the very expensive,including Teva, Nike, North Face, and these are the very best. They are very comfortable, have great arch support, are light weight, and are durable. I tend to wear down heels pretty quickly but these last almost a year as my primary footwear (I live in Tucson). Further, my feet perspire quite a bit and most shoes and sandals get pretty rank after a few days, but not these. The footbeds stay clean and don't smell. I love them.

Sandals are well made, I like how they fit my foot. I just wish they were a little bit more fashionable.

I am a professional fishing captain for Marauder Charters in Solomons island. These sandals are my every day wear. I bought the tan and cork ones (for dress sandals) for a wedding I have to attend. I have a black pair for fishing every day and a brown pair to wear with jeans in the fall. Excellent product. Incredible comfort. Great durability. They even float if you have to jump overboard when you're having too much fun sandals. When I was working in islandmorada Florida the guy in the sandal shop down there made me a $50 bet that I would come by and purchase another pair because they were that good a sandal. My husband has painful flat feet and even active wear shoes with arch support don’t feel as well as these sandals. Whenever we are home he takes off shoes and wears thesesandals. Supportive of his achy feet better than anything else, like arch support inserts or other footwear claiming to be supportive. Does he like them, yes…currently has three pairs. Highly recommend.

The sole of this flip flop is not as shown in the pictures. The design has changed so it’s now a soft and slippery foam that wears very quickly and is very dangerous on any wet surface (like near a beach!). I have a few pairs of the versions pictured and they have excellent wear and great grip on wet surface BUT you are not getting the version pictured. Amazon this is a fraudulent & incorrect listing. You should insist that Spenco post the correct pictures. Better yet Spenco should revert back to the original sole. These are a disaster.

All I can say is WOW. I've never been a flip-flop guy. Or at least not a 'flip flop' with the thing between your toes kind of guy. I've always worn the other type, without the in between the toe strap. I needed new flip flops for the season and grabbed a cheap-o pair at wally world. You know the $10 Corona/Beer flip flops. After figuring out that the between the toe thing wasn't bothering me I set out to find a GOOD pair. A few internet searches later and I landed on these and ordered them up. The support is awesome. I can (and do) wear these all day long. They have great arch support and that hump in the middle for metatarsal support is amazing. I have a wider foot, and if I had one complaint it's that they were just a bit wider. My feet aren't over the edges but they are darn close. I will buy these again and if they go on sale/clearance at the end of the season I'm going to snap up a couple pairs.
