Great jacket for the price. Only complaint not true to size.

Initial impression: Impressive! (with a 2000 mile update)
Jacket just arrived. I was looking to replace a Scorpion EXO mesh jacket with something that fits better, feels sturdier, and is more suited for all weather. It's hard to judge these needs while shopping online, but I thought I'd take a chance on this one, given the features for the price.I normally wear a medium, but as a taller/slimmer guy I found my EXO too large in the chest and too short in the torso. I used the sizing chart from the leatherup site to get an idea on this jacket's sizing and ended up ordering a medium as that's the size closest to my measurements. I'm glad I did! The chest is just big enough for the liners and a couple layers of clothing, if necessary, and the torso and sleeves are the perfect length. All the reviews I read said it runs small, but I don't really know where the truth lies. I normally wear a medium, and this medium jacket is perfect. My advice is to go to Leatherup and take some measurements to confirm your size. With regards to quality I have never purchased anything from Xelement before and have no real expectations. I can only speak on my initial impressions. Every stitch feels rock solid, but there are a great deal of loose threads that need to be clipped. I don't think that's a real issue at all but it may speak to overall quality assurance. The jacket's armor is pretty hefty and generally the jacket feels a lot more trustworthy than my Scorpion EXO. I now intend to hang that one up indefinitely or use it for a passenger.Worth it? So far, it definitely looks like it! It's comfortable and its appearance isn't specific to one style of rider; that's important for me because I ride anything on two wheels. Lots of pockets (even a concealed carry). All weather capable with a hefty winter vest liner, a good rain liner, and a breathable mesh/solidly armored outer shell. Reflective piping and adjustable snaps everywhere to assist in getting a more tailored fit.I'll be putting it through its paces with a 1400 mile journey starting this weekend. I'll come back after the field test with the results. Expect an update in a couple weeks. In the mean time if you're thinking about making this purchase I can't give you a reason not to!!FIELD TEST RESULTS IN: I ended up putting 2000 miles on the bike. Couldn't resist taking the long way. I wore the jacket with an additional reflective vest the whole time, as Houston and Pensacola really instilled a sense of ATGATT into me *gulp*. Along the journey I rode in temps of up to 103 degrees and in varying severity of thunderstorm. Was it hot? Yes. Very. But mostly in the gridlock. With freeway speeds it wasn't intolerable, as wind moves through the mesh extremely well. Tolerable when the weather app says 103 is pretty much the best you can ask for while being this protected, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. With regards to rain, the liner did its job and kept me pretty dry with some seepage around the collar. Unfortunately, as with all rain liners, there's no ventilation at that point so a summer storm with a liner on becomes a sauna. Honestly it was more enjoyable letting the rain cool me off, and I only used the liner when I was riding in nighttime rainstorms so as to keep my core temperature up.I have to say this was worth every penny, and I've probably found my new favorite brand. I'll be back when the time comes. I've already got my money's worth and I'm confident this will last quite some time!

Great jacket weird fit
This jacket is well built with great features however the bottom flared out without a way to tighten it so had to return it. I'm a bigger guy so it might work for you if your thinner

Nice jacket for the money.
It seems like a good quality jacket. All the reviews said to order at least one size up. Some said to order two or three size up. I believed them, so I ordered one size up, and got an X Large when I usually go large. The coat turned out to be just a little too big. I should have ordered my regular size. I'm sending this one back, but I did try it on and check out all the features. It seems like a well built jacket. With the liners in, you have to zip it up twice; the inner zipper that closes up the liner, and the outer zipper that closes up the shell. The inner zipper has a flap that covers it, secured with Velcro, it seems like it would be a very secure barrier against cold and rain. There are also zippers that hold the liner in. That's three sets of zippers. This makes it a little difficult when installing or removing the liner. I had to put my reading glasses on and move to a better lit area of the kitchen to get it all put back together correctly. Not the kind of thing I would ever want to have to try outside at dusk. I liked the look of it a lot, it was a little too big for me, but it's a really good looking jacket. Except... the arms are to wide in proportion to the jacket. I felt like I had puffy arms. I'm going to return this and buy something that is strictly light weight, and this time I'm am going to order my own size.

Need rocket science degree to take apart and put together!
I really liked the concept, especially the armor, as well as taped seams. Plenty of pockets, seems well made, long kidney patch...all good things, but once you figure out how to get it apart it's damn near impossible to put back together. If I would have had to stop under a bridge to put in the rain liner it would have stopped raining by the time I got it together and I would have set the whole thing on fire! Being a mesh jacket, I'm not sure how good it would be in the cold with just the small liner and no rain layer. I'm sticking to leather for now but am still interested and will look at other Xelement jackets. By the way, it was way to small in my regular size. If you have a belly, buse that size instead of your waist.

Great
Just recieved my jacket. This jacket is really nice for the cost. Like the pockets, liner is great. But the construction is qhatnim impressed with. Heavy, but well ventilated. Removed liner , I live in Florida. Maybe it’ll get cold, but will need when we go to NC. So far very happy with the few times I wore it. UPDATE- Three rides on this jacket and it flows air great while riding. For sure you will need to keep liner with you, cause when it dipped down the one night it was very cool air coming through. Put liner on, then I put jacket on for a tad more warmth. It’s warm. Easiest way for Florida riding is , liner out and when you need it put it on and not install in jacket first. After all you’ll be taking it out. No need to fasten into jacket, in MY opinion. Like the jacket, fir, design and many., of it. Buy it.

Good all season jacket
I just received the jacket and tried it on and the fit was perfect. I ordered a large my chest measured 44 inches roughly and I'm 6ft tall and weight 195 pounds. It's adjustable from the arms to the waist. It is sturdy built but also feels very comfortable. I went for a ride on Saturday morning with the temperature being around 48 degrees and It was very warm and comfortable with highway speeds of 75 mph. I'm looking forward to seeing how it feels during the summer months without the insulated liner. This is a great value at a great price for a quality product. I'll update my review when I use it during the summer.
