Beautiful book.

I describe this book as blah. Those that produced it need not be offended, just greatly improve it as you are capable of doing so.

The lofty and ambitious title over-promised but under-delivered. Any professional or homeowner looking for ideas would rather look elsewhere. The pictures and description seem to be copy and pasted from the various architects whose building are featured here. What is more interesting is the surprising and perhaps inexcusable exclusion of some of the most architecturally interesting and celebrated works in the contemporary Japanese architecture. I strongly recommend not wasting your time with this book.

This book features 26 different architectural ideas from Japan. Unfortunately, the ideas presented are quite unique and not quite to my taste. I prefer things and designs to be more practical for everyday life, rather than marvels of aesthetics and futuristic design. I was a bit disappointed. I expected more from this book when I purchased it. Nonetheless, it will be a great coffee table book.

Beautiful photography. Beautiful homes. Plus floor plans that go with each home (perfection.) The photography of each house is very well composed in each book. The images chosen give a good sense of direction and allure for the reader. The zen like modern homes that are featured in the book are impressive and delightful. Most designed by renowned architects as well. I found the book to be inspiring. The book is certainly underrated.

This books needs a refresh.Was disappointed. Guess I should have checked the publication date.Think there are better books out there re this topic.
