Octocurl: No Heat Curlers - Soft Hair Rollers for Overnight Sleep (Satin Miss Mauve)

I used the Octocurl the night it arrived, after getting home from work. My hair was dry and had been blown out 3 nights before so getting to the end of its usable life before needing washing but I figured this was a good time to try the Octocurl. If I didn’t like the results, I would wash it out in the morning before work. I used 2 “tentacles” per section of hair, so I wrapped 8 sections in total. I lightly misted each section with water before wrapping, and combed the mist through. I didn’t wrap the hair too tightly, leaving space between each wrap around so the curl wouldn’t be too tight (my hair is wavy and frizzy naturally and takes a curl easily). Anyway, this morning when I took the Octocurl off, I was mostly pleased. The curls were still tighter than I wanted. I wish each tentacle was thicker to easily make bigger and softer curls. I’ll work on my technique to get what I want though. There are lots of techniques in the guidebook to try. I finger-combed the curls a bit, but they were still pretty tight but not too bad. Then wore it all day at work. Tonight getting ready for bed is the first time I really saw them again. Much happier now with the curls becoming softer and looser. The picture is from tonight, after all-day wear. I like this look so will try to achieve that from the beginning. Would normally wash my hair today at the latest, but want to see how to curls hold up tomorrow so I may wait. I did find the Octocurl comfortable enough to sleep in. Main thing was just moving the tentacles away from my face when sleeping on my side or turning over to the other side. It is super easy to use as well. I may try other fabrics (I got the satin one) just to see how things go with that and how he differences in how wet I can leave my hair. Would love to towel dry after a shower and then use the Octocurl, though that’s not recommended. Might work with the absorbent microfiber material though. Anyway, if you are thinking of trying it, give it a go! It’s a great option for no-heat, no fuss styling.

I was so excited for this. I knew it was on its way so I showered and let my hair air dry a bit before it got here. I was impressed with the quality and comfort of the curlers... But, it's too big for my head. Even on the tightest setting it is still falling off and I can't comfortably keep it in place. I wanted something I could sleep in, and seeing how I can't get it to stay put when I'm awake and sitting still, I don't think it will stay put over night.

Oh my goodness!! I am undoubtedly and undeniably absolutely in love with my Satin Octocurl. I have natural hair (non-permed) that reaches my chin in the front, past my shoulders at the sides and at the middle of my back in the rear...basically unintentionally semi- layered hair..lol. I washed and conditioned my hair as usual and then used gel on my moistened hair to help set my hair with the octocurl. I watched one of my favorite youtubers (K.C.) whom initially used the octocurl and just knew that I needed to have this and that it looked super easy. Needless to say, before getting started I kind of had an idea on how to use the item before I purchased it; but, the product also explains how to use the item in detail. If my hair was a longer length I would tried using the item by way of twisting my hair around the hanging pieces that form the octocurl;  but, due to my length and hair density I decided on using the hanging 16 octocurls in sections of 8 to use my hair as a third component in a braid which left me with 8 braids as you may be able to see in the attached picture. Truly, the creator of this product brilliantly thought of everything because at the top crown of this product there was even an adjustable strap added to the front so that it accomodates different head sizes.  However, one thing I did notice is that my head is smaller than I thought...lol...I let my nieces put on the item to see where the crown set on them and it was perfect but for me, even with the crown adjusted at the tightest settings the item would've still began the braids lower on my head which would've given me flat crown. Oh but don't worry, I had an easy fix since I have an abnormally tiny head...I added bobby pins to the top of my crown to make a way smaller crown so that my braids basically started at the middle of my head to eliminate any crown issue. Needless to say, I love my hair and so did my hubby, the kids and everyone I encountered this morning...lol...either I need a change from straight hair or my hair is just bomb, but, either way I'm in live and this will be my new healthy hair no heat grow tool. I am beyond certain that my hair is so happy and grateful for the octocurl because I not only needed no heat but my curls are very cute, silky, bouncy, defined, the hairstyle was fast and I needed absolutely no heat. Trust me...this item is needed by any woman with hair on their head.This beautifully vibrant product arrived securely packaged and the plastic pouch that the octucurl is housed in is extremely durable and can definitely be used over and over again throughout the life of the octocurl. The item's construction is made of high quality matetials and seems to be indestructible for endless use (I plan to update my review as I use this item in different ways).  Not to mention, as I touched on earlier the product was well thought out and is a nice satin material, someonhow holds a form that bounces back after use, is adjustable at the crown and has the strongest elastics pieces at the end to seal the braid or twist (especially for us individual's who have a little heat damage and our hair refuses to hold a curl at the end). Works good but struggled to have good curls on the short one but my daughter had a great turn out for hers medium hair one

I love this product. I was pleasantly surprised. It took me a while to get the hang of it & get my ends wrapped. The rods are super soft. I put a bonnet over them while I slept. It didn't bother me at all! Very firm curls. I was in a rush this morning so I didn't have a lot of time to style it. Now I know what to expect! NO DAMAMAGE CURLS....MUST BUY. I have relaxed hair. This is a game changer.
