Craftsman KK-4835 Compressor Connecting Rod Kit

I have an old (20+ years) makita mac2200 that wouldn't shut off because it couldn't pump up to shutoff pressure. I bought this in the hopes of revitalizing the compressor and it works better than ever. It is a surprisingly easy repair for anyone with basic wrenches and a little mechanical skill. Took me about an hour total and that included replacing the eccentric bearing that drives the piston.This kit fits a ton of small oil less compressors and seems to be pretty generic although you should be sure to check the parts breakdown on your particular compressor.This kit is a very reasonably priced upgrade,with a replaceable piston ring. A lot of the older ones like mine had copper piston rings which over time damaged the piston cylinder so forget about just replacing just the piston ring if the cylinder is scored.I disassembled mine before ordering the kit-you should check the reed valve plate assembly as well as this is the another common reason for this kind of failure.This was a great compressor because although it's loud it puts a lot of air out for the size so this was a great fix for me.Runs like new for $50 total.

Received the four parts on time just last night. 22 minutes later I plugged in the compressor and watched the pressure build like it was new. Last week the compressor would not build past 44 psi. After only 15 years it was tired. I dismantled the covers and pulled the head and saw damage to the piston and sleeve almost like sand made it past the dinky air filter. Looked on google for parts for the 919155731 model and found Amazon had the best price/delivery time. While waiting for the parts I cleaned the reed valves thoroughly from built up gunk and added a homemade air filter (from left over parts) for better protection of the new components.This repair was easy and straight forward with a minimum of time and tools. Highly recommended to greatly extend the life of a tired compressor.Vance

My old Craftsman compressor stopped building up air so when I looked for causes it was obvious that the piston flap was worn out. When I first looked online I came across things like "parts no longer made". But as always I checked Amazon and there it was. This kit had just what I needed to quickly repair my compressor in less than 10 mins for a lot less than a new compressor. Great product and I am back in business.

The Sears KK-4835 Connector Rod Kit continues to disappoint. I have owned my compressor for over fifteen years and the quality of the Connector Rods have steadily decreased to the point that I get 3 months use out of a Rod Kit, sometimes less. When I bought the compressor new, the original Rod lasted about six years, but not any more. They always breaks in the same place, above where the Rod attaches to the Bearing. They have to be making these Rods out of inferior materials for maximum profits at the expense of the customer!It is no longer worth it for me to have to spend $150.00 annually to keep this compressor operating. I purchased another brand compressor and will NEVER AGAIN buy a SEARS brand compressor. I also caution anyone who has a DeVilbis / Sears oilless compressor that uses the KK-4835 Kit for replacement parts, about the inferior quality of these Rod Kits. They are JUNK! Seriously! They are!Also, I could not find a substitution P/N for this Rod Kit that was NOT made from the same junk these kits are made of. You are stuck with these Kits or nothing!I do not hold Amazon responsible for the inferior quality of the Kits, these are Craftsman / Sears parts.

Excellent. Compressor back up and running in 30 minutes! Complete with instructions, diagram, and torque specs. It also has extra O-rings.
