This gorgeous and beefy book offers exactly what it says it does: vegetable gardening wisdom, daily advice, and inspiration for novice and expert gardeners alike. I struggle to keep my houseplants alive, but I have this big, beautiful backyard with endless gardening possibilities I've been dying to explore. I have never felt more encouraged and inspired to slide on my gloves and start planting. The book is organized by season, starting with late winter and ending, of course, with fall. Each season features insight on what to plant, how to plant it, expert advice (like using soy-inked newspaper as a first-layer mulch) and tips for taking your produce into the kitchen. Plus, the beautiful illustrations are a perfect companion to Kelly's advice and fresh-from-the-garden recipes.

It is daily encouragement to me and reminds me daily that to treat my plants with love and care! The book is broken up into seasons. I flip through the book and read the hints and inspirations reminds me that it's beautiful outside. I've always struggled with getting outside and away from screens, this is such a daily help to me. It is also a real encouragement and it seems that often that the sayings are perfect gems when going through a hard time. It feels like the author planned it out that I receive the words that I need for that day and the inspiration that is the most fitting. Super book for any Gardner or Plant lover.

Everything about this book makes me happy--the cover is beautiful; the illustrations bright, whimsical and accessible; it's the perfect size to hold and to dog-ear and to carry around from living room to garden. I love the way it's organized because it makes it easy for me to flag a few things I can do NOW, regardless of the season. It's easy to read, it's aspirational, and it's action-oriented (to do: 3-steps to make a simple garlic repellent to get rid of the aphids in my front garden bed). I'm going to give a copy of this book with a beautiful pair of gardening gloves to my mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day. Highly recommend!

Very colorful & informative dialogue

This book is great for beginners, and I like how it’s broken down by season to make it easy to find where to start as soon as you open it. It’s beautifully illustrated and full of simple tips and suggestions on how to make the most of your veggies, like how to use carrot tops for pesto with an easy, delicious recipe. This handy book would make a great Mother’s Day gift or gift for anyone who is interested in growing their own vegetables!

This delightfully written, beautifully illustrated book is the perfect persuasion to start growing food. Whether it's a kitchen herb garden or a row of raised beds, Kelly shares useful takeaways from her expertise to inspire the novice and longtime gardeners to try something new. I loved the anecdotes, quotes and recipes (!!) dispersed throughout her seasonal planting and harvesting tips. My backyard raised beds have been neglected for the past two seasons, but thanks to this quick read, that's about to change. Thank you Kelly!

This book is mostly short anecdotes, quotes, and small bits of advice on colorful pages. Not exactly what I was looking for.

This book is full of wonderful vegetable gardening tips, great gardening quotes from gardeners of all stripes, and beautiful graphics throughout. I bought one copy and after I received it, I sat down and bought 5 more to give to friends who have vegetable gardens and to give as hostess gifts. What a terrific book. I sincerely doubt I will stop at 6 purchases. I will be buying this book to give to friends as long as Amazon offers it.
