Q: Is this product similar (or a replacement) to the expandover power-lite adhesive bandage?

This is the features of this tape as I know;Hypoallergenic and gentle, this surgical tape is ideal for frequent taping and re-taping, such as for dressings that are changed often.Features excellent adhesion, yet leaves minimal residue; is easy to tear, yet is strong and lightweight.Most of time , this tape is used to secure over the Gauze pads. Gauze Bandages and most of dressings.

Q: Is this product water proof?

No. Not even a bit. Its paper and once soaked tends to want to fall off most people's skin in my experience. The exception to that is if its been on a surface or person for a LONG time (12 hours+) in which case the adhesive will form a strong bond to the skin that will keep it from coming off easily when wet.For water proof medical tape you want something like Transpore (plastic clear stuff that tears easily by hand, not very strong and inconsistently sticky) or WET-PRUF (cloth tape that has to be cut with scissors, usually works well enough on sweaty people or moderate water exposure, sometimes sticks TOO well). For some Durapore (silk tape, water resistant NOT water proof, can be hand torn but scissors is best) is a very nice alternative if you need something that can take some splashing after it has been stuck on (skin needs to be dry when 1st applied) and also works reasonably well with people that have delicate skin since it peels off easily. Just be aware all of those tapes stick more thoroughly than Tenderskin does. Durapore is the most gentle out of all of them though.
