Spoiler Alert
I love time travel books and bought this one based on the good reviews. ****spoiler alert******I had barely started the book and Fran is kissing a guy that she just met in another time. That was ridiculous. But I kept at it. It was mundane, predictable - no twists and turns. Also it seems like no one proof read the book for content. For example, someone tells Fran she can sell eggs to make money and she doesn't do it. Then they tell her again and she acts like its a new idea. She gets a letter in the mail and forgets about it? You are trapped in time with nothing and forget you have a letter? The final straw came when Fran keeps putting clues in the trunk for her family to figure out she had gone back in time. Really. Clues? Why not just put a letter in the trunk explaining it. I finally skimmed ahead to the end to see what happens. But no - nothing happens. You have to read through the next mundane book. Don't waste your time.

One of the best time travel books I've read in a long time
Yesterday's Tears: A Slip in Time is one of the best time travel books I've read in a long time. I could not put it down. Although it was a-bit slow moving in a few places, the characters of Franny and Luke held my interest through those times. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. If you like time travel, farm life in the late 1800's, a-bit of mystery and romance, this book is for you. I know it was for me. When I got to the end, not knowing there is a book two, I nearly fell out of my chair thinking, "It can't end this way!" Where is Dora? Did she find Franny? I was relieved to see there was a book 2. I just ordered book 2. It should be on my Kindle as I type this. Ms. O'Brien, I read that this was your first time travel novel. If that's true, Bulls Eye! I can't wait to start book 2. Great Job. You have gained a new follower.

Lovely story!
Such a wonderful story! I always enjoy the (albeit romanticized) notion of a simpler time. After reading the brief excerpt from the forthcoming book, I immediately scrambled to find it on Amazon....only to learn that the publish date from Yesterday's Tears was just May 2019, so I will have to be patient for the next installment.

414 pages of huge print. No reading glasses needed!
I received today and I have to say that I am disappointed in the large print. 414 pg book that will only take one day to read. Certainly won’t need my reading glasses. Let’s hope the story is a great one! I also bought book 2 so I’m double hoping. Any reason for the waste of space and page?

Fun tale and great segue to book number two at the end!
Enjoyed very much the details of life in 1875, especially the signal quilts! Interesting to see how modern day phraseology would cause heads to turn in post Civil War America.

I felt like I was there!
An excellent read! I felt myself slipping back in time to what seemed like a simpler more romantic era. I felt rather sad when the book ended and I had to come back to the present day.Looking forward to book #2 and hopefully a trilogy and beyond.

Only halfway through reading, the story is O K for a little light reading, but I am interested enough to find out how she returns
