I'll admit I turned to these looking for an alternative to pig ears for my dog after the salmonella scare. After cow ears didn't work out I went with these. They seem to have become a favorite of my boxer. If there is a downside it's that maybe they're too delicious - he eats them too quickly and then comes nosing around my dinner looking for more. Happy with the product though, and in all honesty, when and if pig ears come back on the market I'll probably return to them (he does love them) as a primary treat but will most definitely keep using these - and this brand, Raw Paws - as a supplemental/change-of-pace after dinner treat. My puppies and dogs enjoy these. Don’t notice much scent if any. Lamb ears are pricier than cow ears, not sure if theirs much difference between the two as for nutrition. I just like them for the puppies, keeps them busy and occupy. Chewing is important part of health.

Our dog usually gets lambs ears from a “boutique” pet store but we decided to buy this bag of lambs ears since it’s less expensive to buy them in bulk rather than for $4 each at the pet store. Amazons description portrayed these ears as high quality but they ARE NOT. when we opened the bag the first thing that hit me was the small of mold. I should have stopped right there and returned them but the ears, however, looked perfect with no visible signs of rancidity or mold. So I gave one to my dog who immediately dropped it on the ground and sniffed it....this from a dog who lives to get a lambs ear. Did I stop and return them at that point? Nope. I’m an idiot. My dog picked it back up and ate so I thought, okay, maybe it’s just me. Why? I couldn’t tell you bc I’m usually quick to return anything defective or ”inferior.” Anyway, over the course of a week my dog ate 3 or 4 more. Then the trouble started...he overnight developed a major hotspot on his wrist. He was miserable. He’s 5 and never had one before. It took us WEEKS to heal that hotspot...we used Iodex, betadine, ozonated oil, a blue light, and Benadryl to calm his immune system. He had to be watched constantly or wear the cone of shame. He suffered from my poor judgment. Learn from my mistake and DO NOT buy these.

Most important, my 10 month old pup loves them. She's has to spend time in her crate if I'm gone for a while and a lamb ear keeps her happy while I get out the door. They are the right size and come in a quality resealable bag. This is our second purchase and we plan to keep getting them since large pig ears are getting too expensive. My dachshund loves these. He's pretty much allergic to a bunch of stuff including beef, soy, rice, sweet potatoes and potatoes, so I love that this is a single ingredient snack that's made from lamb (easy on the stomach). I take a little peanut putter and stuff it into the ear canal, and it keeps my little dachshund busy for quite some time. These were surprisingly bigger than what I was expecting, but I've never bought lamb ears before, so I don't know how they compare to other brands.

My six month old pup became very excited when I opened the bag containing lambs ears and even more so when he was offered one. He actually pranced around the great room for several minutes before settling down to contentedly chew on his new prized posession. He spent significant time and energy relocating and hiding this treasure in the two days it took him to devour it. I discerned no particular scent during the pup's consumption of the lambs ear which I count as a positive.

I liked the size of the lamb ears. They are a great substitute to rawhides. My 3 big dogs enjoy them as a savory treat! They come packaged well so they stay fresh and all the ingredients are labeled on the packaging so you do not have any question! I would definitely consider buying them in the future again whenever we might run out. Great product overall!
