Great product, Easy install
This was an easy install and works perfectly. Make sure you have the right size and measure the diameter for your engine.

The answer to no rewind.
This item fits some other later B&S recoil starter, but the spring can be 'harvested' from the plastic wheel & slips right in the earlier (& larger) plastic B&S Quantum set up. Very happy with the results.

Decent product for the price.
The plastic is not very durable and did not fit my js63 very well. I used my original wheel and the new spring. It worked fine after installation.

This was an easy install. Just make sure you save the pawl ...
This was an easy install. Just make sure you save the pawl assembly from your old one if you aren't replacing that as well. The spring comes installed on the pulley and it has clear plastic shipping tape holding it on.1. Peel the shipping tape off then carefully set the pully into the housing2. Install the pawl assembly and tighten up to the proper torque.3. Wind the spring as far as it will go then back it up until the hole pull-cord hole in the pulley lines up with the cord hole in the housing.4. Slip the pull cord through. This can take some finessing I like to melt the cord with a lighter and roll it in the smooth section of a pair of needle nose pliers till it resembles the aglet of a shoelace. This makes fishing it through easier5. Once its through keep holding the pulley and tie a knot in the end of the cord that's through. Heat the knot a little with a lighter to harden it so it wont come undone then pull it back tight against the pulley6. Release the pulley and feed your pull cord in so it winds itself, all thats left after that is reinstall, cut the cord to the proper length and install the handle.

Complete crap quality, didnt even last a season or 20 lawn mowing sessions
So my original pulley on my lawn mower lasted almost 8 years. Looking at the remnants of the older piece of pulley it was about 20% thicker and seemed much denser and way less flexible. This replacement i got is thin and flimsy, and i questioned its ability to take normal use as soon as i pulled it out of the package. Sure enough, not even 20 starts later and it already failed. Absolute crap. See pics virtually no wear and it snapped. Something that take torque like this should be fiber resin reinforced, and with a metal backing or even better yet made out of aluminum so it will take years of use. Briggs and Stratton should be ashamed of themselves for selling cheap crap.

Easy Install!
I ripped the pull chord on my push mower, and when I went to replace the chord, I took the screws of the pully assistant device that was already installed out ( don't do this) and when I did, the metal spool came out. Normally this would be a simple fix, but I bent the tongue on the end of the metal spool and it became almost impossible to fix, for me! So I did the next best thing and bought a new pully assisted device. Be careful putting this on so you don't let it unravel or you may end up in my situation. I recommend this product and after using it for a few months I have had NO issues.

Beware & double check
This pulley is smaller in diameter than the OEM for 3.0 Briggs engine. In my case it wasn’t going to work. Nothing wrong about the quality. I returned mine.
