Briggs & Stratton 281505S Ratchet Pawl Replaces 281505/557059

Worked great to fix my 22" Toro with SmartStow lawnmower. The original ones got damaged due to an engine seizure, and my getting angry and yanking too hard on the pull start. That said, I hate that this part is made of plastic. It should be made of aluminum. Anyway, this part fit perfectly.

The parts worked great, I looked up a video on how to install the parts snd saved myself from a costly repair bill. These were installed along with a new spring coil.

Oem design is flawed & they break easily. Honda engine design is far superior.

They show two in the picture, I got one for that price. Kind of deceptive

The piece was exactly what i was looking for... but based on the picture i assumed two were in the package. why replace just the one if you've got things apart anyways.no issues at all with the part. just surprised there was only the one in the package - felt a bit misleading.

Received what I ordered. Just wish I could have gotten the friction plate and screw as a set with the pawls. Just a warning, what’s pictured is all you get
