Our 7 week old miniature dachshund puppy was having a difficult time transitioning from mother's milk to puppy food. I searched online and found the Esbilac 2nd Step puppy weaning food. Ordering with Pet Ag was easy, the item arrived on time, was well packaged and easy to open.The can contains directions in English and French as well as ingredients and storage suggestions. I mixed the powder with Esbilac puppy milk to a pretty thin consistency. As she learned to like it, I gradually added more powder until the consistency was thick. After she got used to eating this, I started mixing in a little bit of puppy food. Each meal, I would mix more puppy food and less weaning powder/milk mixture until she was finally eating all puppy food. This product was easy to digest and didn't upset her young tummy.An added benefit is that it also helped her to go for longer periods during the night. I would highly recommend this product for anyone raising small puppies.

I love both steps in my fragile rescue ….. my last foster went from a 4 ounce cleftie ( English bulldog ) to 28 lbs at 12 weeks …. I’m thrilled ❤️ My vet bought a bunch for her practice because my English no longer foster …. We failed he became our family ❤️

My senior dog is fighting cancer & sometimes loses her appetite due to nausea resulting from the drugs. I keep this product on hand as a way to get some nutrients in her system. It is easy on her GI system and I sometimes make it with extra water to get liquids in her - she laps it up when she refuses food..

I adopted a 6 week old Morkie puppy and even though he could eat "soupy" kibble, I bought this product to help with his transition. He lapped it up and I even mixed some of the liquid milk with his soupy kibble, to form a toy puppy gruel. I did not find the need to mix it with the original (Step 1) milk replacement.

The flavor is liked by my pup. You can make it as thick or thin as you want. I feed it to all the pups I get because mom has such lg litters, I want to give pup a good start once she comes home to me. I feed alone and mix with the dry food

I love Esbilac for growing pups. I give it to my pups when they are being weaned and after they are weaned as I like to think it gives them a few more essential nutrients. My vet recommended this when weaning begins, but I kept giving it on their dog food after they were weaned.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the description on Amazon did not state that this was to be added to the first step replacer product. I thought it was to be used instead of the replacer product as the pups got older. So then I had to buy more milk replacer too. I will say that it was easy to mix and the puppies liked the taste. Good product.

I'm sure this is a great product, however, my puppy didn't really take to it very well. He tried a little bit of it each time, but never really consumed much. Unfortunately, us humans can't tell what it tastes like! Lol! It may work for your puppy, so don't take it off your list based on my experience 😉.
