1) There’s a sweet, funky smell when it comes out of the package. Let it air out. 2) I don’t know how accurate the knitting needle size is, but the suggested crochet hook size is not accurate at all. I kept going up in size until I got to a P/Q (15 mm) size. That size allows for a good loop and shows off the ribbon well. It’s also much easier and I was less likely to get tangled when using that hook size. I used it to make pretty hair scrunchies. 3) It’s only 42 yards so not the best deal (I was only able to make six scrunchies). But it is pretty. 4) One final thing — it’s easy to get the hook tangled in the ribbon part. When that happens, don’t try to pull it out or unhook it. Just push your crochet hook out so the ribbon slips off the back end. Otherwise you’ll just get frustrated.

I love the thick, ruffly scarves made from this yarn. It is a little harder to wind up than the Sashay yarn, and it tends to kink up like a hose-pipe, but if you take the time to wind everything straight, cut out knots, and snip off any little stray shiny yarns sticking out, it is fairly easy to knit with. I use either size 8 bamboo, since it doesn't slip well, or size 10 aluminum.If you find the scarves get flat after a lot of use, you can grab it from one end, let it hang, and shake it out. Do that from both ends and it looks freshly-knit!The color scarf this yarn works up into is striking! Pitch black with bright rainbow shiny fibers. Its color is understated but it still brings the bling!

Simply beautiful ribbon yarn...would love to see other ideas for use in addition to frilly scarves..I have now worked with all of the color choices in this line and whether crocheted or knitted, each is simply lovely.I just wish this particular color was easier to locate and not more expensive than the others.It and the "CITY" color, (silver,black and grey), are stunning on a black blouse or sweater.(I should explain that it is the shipping cost to my locale that makes this expensive for me which explains why I prefer PRIME items over others and rarely order anything not PRIME).)
