RDS MFG INC 70387 Auxiliary Liquid Tank - 45 Gallon Capacity

Great tank. If the tank is full, you will spill out of the overflow. My solution to this was to take a 5/8" tube from Lowes and take a foot of tube and loop it so the diesel that over flows, flows right back into the tank versus my truck bed.Also it took me a while to figure out the locking mechanism. you put the cap on and turn it until it clicks. Then you turn the key a quarter turn and take it out. Remove the cap and when you twist the cap back on, it locks automatically. In summary, I got a great product at a great price; I cannot complain as I did not spend over a $1000 on the unit but it does give me a range of 1,000 miles or more in my 2014 F250.

Amazon advertised as 45 gallon packing slip says 40 gallon so I’m guessing it’s 40 gallons. Also seems slow to fill main tank. Spoke to RDS and they state transfer rate should be .5 gallons per minute when I drain into container only 1 quart per minute so I’m sure tank rate is less. Haven’t tried while pulling my RV when truck is getting 10mpg vs 16 but will see at the end of the month

Way easy to install, great product. Few tweaks I'd do different, but nothing major. I will say buy a better locking gas cap. The one it comes with us cheap and mine was deformed when I got it. Local auto dealer had a really good one for not much. Otherwise a great buy!

Would not recommend! Did not come with all the hardware (bolts and springs which are critical install parts did not come with it). The ports are in bad locations and require an elbow to be installed to prevent hose kinking, but worst of all ONE MONTH AFTER INSTALLING THE LOCKING "VERSALOCK" LOCKING GAS CAP IS LOCKED ON AND I CAN'T GET IT OFF!?!?!? BETTER YET I AM LEAVING ON A CROSS COUNTRY TRIP TOMORROW, SO NO WAY TO FIX LIKE I FOUND EVERYBODY ELSE IS HAVING WITH THIS POS! (YES, THERE ARE TONS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM)

nice looking tank. quality ok but brackets cause the tank to lift on the opposite side. Would like vent to be filtered or with a baffle. installed quickly. Would rather have had a vertical tank but would not fit under my bed cover.

Mounting tabs uneven, tank bottom bowed out.Easy install, arrived on solid pallet, good condition. Works as expected. Used the install kit. Installed in 2008 Duramax short box. This tank provides good range between fills.

I mostly use my GMC 2500 HD truck to tow a 14000 lb fifth-wheel trailer. At 12 mpg the 26 gallon factory installed tank is a serious limitation. This auxilliary tank is exceptionally well made from 0,125 thick diamond plate aluminum with high quality inert gas welds. The low profile design fits easilly below my cross bed tool box. The extra 550 miles range means no worries about running out of gas.

Very nice tank, only issue was the drain plug was stripped from the factory. Easy fix, drilled it out and tapped it one size larger.
