Great Product at a Great Price
I wasn't holding out much expectations for this product but I needed a shovel for my wild camping ventures and to keep in the car during winter months as my previous high end shovel that cost over £100 had failed me badly. During the current C19 situation I didn't want to spend a lot on a replacement.Well what a very pleasant surprise this was though. I took it out into the garden to test it, (as we are all locked down at the time). There was a very stubborn plant that has needed to be dug out for some time now so what better opportunity to test out the spangly new shovel. I set to work and this device made very easy and short work of removing the trifid. The shovel is sharp and compact with a good quality aluminium handle that took the strain very well whilst levering out said plant. The locking mechanism works well but it is strange having to turn it to the left to tighten (in the UK it's "lefty loosey, righty tighty") but I soon got used to it.The saw facility went through the thick roots of the plant like they weren't there, and the axe blade worked a treat for the thicker parts of the plant. On the axe, I will say after trying it out on a thick log in the garden (well ya gotta play :-)), it's not the most balanced tool for the job. That said it is only a function on the side of a shovel so don't expect to be the next lumberjack in the forest. The knife is a little flimsy but adequate for the quick and easy tasks it is designed for, the whistle, well its a whistle, it makes a noise when you want it too. The screwdriver attachment is decent quality but why do the makers of these shovels insist on ABS plastic grommets instead of alloy ones?I'm ex military and do a lot of wild camping, during those times and activities I have used some very expensive "survival" shovels and can confidently say that this product is as good as (better in some cases) any of the previous ones I've used that are at a considerably higher price point. If I was to have a gripe about this product it would be mostly about the pouch. It is plenty durable but it's in 2 parts, one for the shovel head and one for the handle sections. This would be better joined together. Not a big issue to me as I will modify it to suit my taste. BUT! The desert camo design is bog snot ugly. It makes the elephant man look like a super model. All the functionality is self contained and the attachments are stored within the handle section. I would say, don't bother spending a fortune for any branded product as this is the same design and build at a fraction of the cost but without a label.Pros:Great quality, built the same as some higher end products.Strong, the blade and handle are solidFunctional, lots of usesLightweight without being flimsyExcellent price, an amazing price for the quality.Cons:ABS Plastic grommets. Adequate but alloy ones would be better.Back to front head locking mechanism, (Right to release)Pouch, the shovel and the handle sections are in separate pouches, and good grief is that camo ugly lol.

Great shovel for survival
I like to go camping and a lot of it has been on a motorbike lately so I'm trying to keep things small but useful.I've had a couple of occassions now where I'd have liked to have been able to dig a small hole so in preperation for my next trip I bought this Shovel. Why this one??? It has an axe and a knife. I mean, yes I wanted a shovel but if my shovel also happens to have sharp and pointy bits then why wouldn't you go for it!The shovel comes in two bags,One bag with the head and attached bottom section of pole. The bag covers the head only. The 2nd bag houses the next two poles containing all of accessories (including the knife). The pole of the 1st bag then rests in the gap between the 2 poles in the second bag.It would have been nice to have all of the pieces going into a single bag rather than having 2 bags to worry about loosing. The shovel appears to be well constructed and the pieces fit together nicely, becoming tight against the washers as you near the end of the screwing process. The features of the shovel are exactly as described in the listing so I won't go throug them all however I will say that the bits which are meant to be sharp are indeed sharp and in the wrong hands, this shovel could do some serious damage.I'm going to be well equipped when the zombies come knocking.

Solid Shovel.
Haven't used the shovel yet but putting it together it feels solid, and doesn't feel like it would fall apart.Bought for throwing in the boot when camping. The shovel blade looks and feels like it could take some abuse and has saw, axe, bottle opener and spanner features. Can be locked in the shovel or maybe the 90% pick position.AccessoriesThe knife section is quite sharp so be careful - it is also housed at the base in plastic so not sure how strong this will be. Think it would be good enough for light work cutting cord etc....The fire striker looks fine again not used.Screwdriver again housed in plastic so don't do anything too tight.ice / window breaker - looks like it would work. - removal of this might allow you to use as a camera stand - untested.

I’m ex military and this is nothing more that a piece of tat. I do a reasonable amount of wild camping and adventure motor cycling with my 12 year old boy. From the wilds of the UK to Iceland, to West Africa. If you are serious about backpacking, adventure, wild camping etc... don’t buy this. It slips, locks into position and is a royal pain in the arse to work with. However, I’d rather have this than nothing if I got stuck some place. It does have its uses. I managed to dig a reasonable fire pit, chop up some logs for burning, fashion some steps on a chalky hill side. Pry off limpets from rocks and I’ve also used it in the garden to loosen up some soil and make a small trench. So, on that basis I guess it’s okay at best. However if you want something more robust I’d look at something else. Would I recommend it... not really, there is better on the market. But, it’s okay for the price and will get you out of fix... it’s just annoying as hell as it won’t stay fixed or the screw that secures the shovel head becomes too tight and is pain to loosen off.

Not bad, but not the best
Good little Shovel, value for money, the pouch for it is the worst part, some crappy Camouflage pattern, I’ve spray painted mine black, the Knife could easily snap, as it’s just moulded into plastic, that said and done, a decent shovel to complete limited tasks, it’s good enough for me to go on Shovel Recce’s when I need a number 2 👍🏻
