My favorite Paleo cookbook yet!
I waited until I'd cooked many recipes from this book before writing this review.A little background...I've eaten a mostly Paleo diet for about four years now, and in my search for recipes at the beginning of my diet switch, I found and loved Juli's blog and bought her first cookbook. I'm not as familiar with George's blog but have made several of his recipes as well. I was beyond excited when this cookbook was announced and bought a copy as soon as it was released. Since receiving it, I've cooked almost exclusively from it. I have a lot of Paleo cookbooks...like, it's an addiction, a lot, but this one is my favorite. When we got this book, I asked my four kids to go through and mark recipes they thought looked good. Maybe four recipes in the entire book were left unmarked (most of them for vegetables, go figure). So far, I've made everything from banana bread waffles (twice) to smoothies to Perfect Ribs with Blueberry Barbecue Sauce and other amazing, delicious main dishes. We haven't disliked a single recipe yet! Our favorites have been Mongolian Beef and Honey Ginger Wings. Any time you can get an entire family of six on board with any one recipe, it's a success worthy of a chorus of angels singing "Hallelujah."I've found that even in my small town, most of the ingredients in these recipes are easy to find. The directions are easy to follow, and the photography is just gorgeous, from the styling to the lighting.Maybe my favorite aspect of this cookbook is that one recipe can be turned into several, in some instances. The chocolate swirl banana bread can be used to make banana chip French toast or bread pudding (all delicious!). The crockpot pulled pork, amazing on its own, can also be turned into nachos, loaded baked sweet potatoes, and meatloaf.I'm hoping very much that there will be another cookbook from this dynamic duo. My copy of The Paleo Kitchen is already dogeared and well-loved, and sure to be even more abused in the weeks and years to come. Thank you to George and Juli!

Most Creative Collection of Paleo Recipes I Have Ever Read!
"The Paleo Kitchen" has been one of the most creative Paleo recipe books that I have ever read. It truly extended my scope of what can be accomplished on the Paleo Diet. Examples of some of these recipes include Bacon Sweet Potato Hash with Apples and Pear, Creamy Cauliflower Soup, and Coffee Pecan Ice Cream. Even some of the recipes that are traditionally covered in Paleo recipe books, such as sweet potato fries, waffles, and burgers are given a creative flair. This book also had the most extensive list of "what you need for your paleo kitchen" as well. Just about everything you could ever need for a Paleo kitchen is needed. This list, coupled with Juli Bauer and George Bryant's personal stories in the beginning of the book, provide an excellent and authentic introduction to the Paleo world. The other thing I liked was the great food photography, even in the Kindle version.Having said that, the recipes are not the quick "Let me just make something in 5 minutes" variety. You actually need to take your time with the recipes. There are a few recipes that can be done quickly, but an overwhelming majority require time in the kitchen and patience. If you are looking for a quick Paleo meal to make in 15 minutes or less, this might not be for you. If you are tired of creating the same bland, Paleo foods or just want to create something creative with a more natural approach, this book is for you. It's a great reference book and a perfect complement to books like the "Primal Blueprint Cookbook".I bought the Kindle version (due to a delivery mix-up with my print order), but I am going to buy the print version.

review for uk Amazon users
Simply put this book has been well worth the wait, I purchased from Amazon.com because I wanted the book as fast as humanly possible, being a follower of both author blogs I knew it was going to be good, but now I have it in my hands it is so much more than I had Imagined. recipes tried so far Avocado Mouse, the perfect burger and maple cinnamon pecan butter wonderful on apple slices. I cant wait to get back in the kitchen. the book is well laid out and the great photography and text use are creative and fun as well as easy to understand and use. the first 69 pages are dedicated to getting you set up and ready to go everything you could possibly need is there including Juli and Georges personal stories, tips on eating out paleo style, cooking with other, what to buy and what to avoid etc. I will be using this book a lot, also the ingredients are easy to source in the UK and both Fahrenheit and Celsius are included in the recipes, this may be a tiny detail but its so frustrating when you have to rake about trying to convert temps so thanks juli and George for every perfect little detail that you have included in this fab cookbook. and by the way congratulations your baby is beautiful!! To all food lovers Paleo or not buy this you wont regret it , Right back to the kitchen for me I have recipes to try !!!

Awful book - I would like to see them actually MAKE the items using their recipes
So I was initially pretty disappointed when I opened this book to see that there are not really that many recipes in it. I was then further disappointed to see that the authors waffled on about themselves for quite a number of pages. So to cooking. I have literally just tried my first recipe for the fluffy blueberry pancakes.....after everything was mixed it said to ladle out the mixture into the pan. Using the 125g of both flours, the 3 large eggs, 120ml of almond milk along with the honey as directed, the mixture wouldn't ladle if I used both hands! It was thicker Megan Fox's makeup! Refund requested. Lesson learned.

These people really know what they are doing!
I have owned this book for some time; however, I waited until I had made a fair amount of the dishes before reviewing. Today is the day!My husband and I both have a professional catering / chefing background and so, in giving a foodie book a review, I am mostly concerned with the quality of the recipes and the outcome. Anyone reading this may wonder why I have made such an obvious comment, but the criteria that people use these days to judge a cookbook seems to have broadened; years ago, when mostly only chefs wrote cookbooks it was not about personalities, trends or even lifestyles but just cooking technique, food quality and taste. I am grateful for todays variety, but one needs discernment when choosing cookbooks!Juli Bauer and George Bryant have really got it! Paleo recipes that work! They are well communicated, presented and the 'do what they say on the tin'! The recipes are straight forward, but innovative and creative in flavour and texture. These people really know what they are doing! I highly recommend this book for anyone. If you are a paleo, look no further.

Do you love cookies?
My favourite male chef at the moment! George loves bacon and cookies, but has had to make them into Paleo friendly and he has succeeded in starts!!! Well done to him. If you want a fabulous pulled pork recipe that is easy to make and tastes great you will find it in this book along with several yummy bacon dishes and of course who could forget the cookies. Chocolate Macadamia cookies and chocolate chip cookies made the paleo way so way healthier than normal ones. I must stop typing and get up and make some more as I have run out.
