Comfort Zone Electric Oscillating Pedestal Fan - A Good Value
Not a very sturdy fan, but a good value nonetheless. This Comfort Zone Electric Oscillating Pedestal Fan is relatively easy to assemble and is easy to operate. It's a nice size and works well. It generates just the right amount of white noise for me to sleep comfortably. It also has good speed and operates quite well overall. I would absolutely purchase this pedestal fan again; it is just what I was looking for. Five stars from me.

Not the sturdiest but this fan is absolutely effective and QUIET
This is my second time purchasing this kind of fan. I'm not sure if the first was the same brand but it was identical. Sadly, the first one stopped working after a couple of years of daily use. After the first broke, I went through 2 other types of fans that I ultimately stopped using because of faint buzzing sounds. I've been sleeping without a fan for a while but decided to purchase this before hot summer nights return. This is not the sturdiest fan but unless you expect to be bumping into it or have small children running around, it's fine. It's not going to spontaneously fall over but picking it up and moving it from one area to another requires two hands. If this fan only lasts me a year, I would absolutely buy another one. Here are my reasons:1. NO buzzing. If you want a fan to run while you are sleeping, this is the one.2. The pedestal type (4 "legs") is great because it looks cleaner and doesn't collect a layer of dust. You can clean under it too.3. In my opinion, this fan look is less visually imposing compared to a similar fan than has a solid base.4. Easy to use. Press button to turn on. Press another button to turn off. There isn't a remote but if you need to turn it on or off in the middle of the light, you can do so without turning any lights on.5. Simple in the best way. It does not have any blue lights or beeping sounds. It's just a fan.Overall I would highly recommend this fan. There's nothing worse than doing hours of research and spending $100+ on a "good quality" fan just for it to be unbearable to sleep with. At $30, I'd rather purchase 5 of these over time than spend $150 on a "good" fan that disappoints.

The "patented folding base" is junk. No customer support. DO NOT BUY!!!
UPDATED REVIEW 09/2019I bought this fan two years ago. At the time I thought it was OK.But three weeks ago, the plastic hinge component which forms the center of the "folding base" failed. While the other plastic components seem more durable, this important structural component is cheaply manufactured. The plastic literally crumbled in my hands when I investigated why the fan had fallen over!My preliminary analysis is that they used very little plastic resin and way too much sand as a filler. With no flexibility, and inadequate UV inhibitors is not necessarily a design flaw, it is evidence of cutting corners during the manufacturing process.Comfort Zone has a nearly impenetrable website for support, and no telephone support that I could find. However I did manage to find an email portal. It's well out of warranty ... I asked if I could buy replacement components. There has been no response. So I consider this vendor to be unworthy of anyone's future business! All other fan components remain serviceable. Rather than throw it in the trash, I decided to look for a replacement base. An indoor flag stand might be perfect to hold the 1-1/4" diameter rod, but anything I found cost more than the fan is worth. So I decided to concoct my own replacement. (See the photos)The homemade base is essentially an upside down plastic saucer from under a garden pot. A cast iron floor flange for 1-1/4" diameter pipe is screwed through the saucer into a piece of scrap lumber underneath. Then a 1-1/4" diameter x 3" long pipe nipple is threaded into the floor flange. (Hand-tightened only, with a couple wraps of teflon pipe tape for easy disassembly.)The fan's support pole fits loosely into the pipe, so I applied some wraps of electrician's tape to create a snug fit. Sprayed that with silicone lubricant, then twisted it into place where it stayed secure and centered. Then spray-painted it white to match the fan.Plugged it in a couple hours ago; better than new! Total cost $6 for the pipe fittings. Everything else was stuff I had laying around. Conclusion: DO NOT BUY THIS FAN! It is not structurally sound. Customer support is non-existent!The best thing about it is my home-made replacement base.ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2017:I measured the fan blade of my old pedestal fan whose motor burned out after 18 years. ... 16" So I ordered this Comfort Zone CZST161BTE to replace it. Surprise! These fans are measured by the diameter of the fan guard, not the fan blade. It's blade is more like 13"- 14" diameter. Guess what I wanted was a 20" pedestal fan?No matter, this is a nice smaller fan that I will keep. The stand is much lighter that the larger-diameter fan, so is the motor section, but that makes sense. Not too tall, but it does the job. Inexpensive, I think a good value for the price.

Works Okay. Cheaply Made.
Works Well but Cheap MaterialsI bought this fan for a special purpose. I need it to blow air over my seedlings to avoid something called damping disease. I only use it once in awhile, and it has performed satisfactorily. However, when I put it together, I was just pleased by the flimsy plastic.

Cheap but Fan-tastic
This fan moves a great amount of air across any room like most other pedestal ones do, even has great power and low noise level, the oscillate works as well.

Motor died after a year and change
Was flimsy and unstable but worked well enough for about a year and a half. After that motor stopped working entirely.

Nice fan at reasonable price
Nice size fan, easy to assemble. Lots of air flow. I like the height. I’m using it to circulate air in my plant room. Has been working well.I would recommend.
