This item is what you would expect for the price. I can't speak for the longevity of the batteries as I used a USB wall outlet to power it for indirect lighting under an end table. It's just a neat little ambient underglow for our home theater. Cheaply made "imported" remote and hardware, but, it serves it's purpose.

Put down the extra double sided tape first and then the lights and they have stuck on well. Not as bright as id like but they are only battery powered.

I wanted these lights to give to my patio table some "personality" for the coming Holidays and it worked out perfectly! during day time they are almost unnoticeable and at night my table comes to life with all those tiny lights! I love the fact that it uses batteries so no cables or wires running around my party table! I bought two sets so the batteries can last longer but I can control both sets with just one remote because after a few minutes they Sync. Lights are very bright ( they change colors) and they have different modes so you can choose whichever you prefer!! Love it!!

Worked right out of box - controller connected, cycled through colors, patterns, brightness and speed. Then out of nowhere nothing seems to power it. 5 minutes of a use. I've tried new AA batteries and several 5v USB chargers (highest with 3A output). The only thing left to try is splicing the wire to DC, but then I wouldn't be able to return the already defective unit.No matter the power source used the entire reel/strip simply blinks once in uniform then goes completely dark (we're talking a fraction of a second).

Comes with AAA Battery converter or can be connected directly to TV's USB port. Works great.

Didn't work. Kept turning itself on to red flashing. Not cool to wake in the middle of the night to the sight of red strobe effect in the room.
