If you own a plane, are thinking about owning a plane, are a pilot flying GA at all, heck if your involved in aviation in any way you should read all of Mikes books. It might not make you a better pilot but it for sure will make you have a better understanding of airplanes how they work and maintenance.

It will save any aircraft owner thousands of dollars
I've recommended this book at least ten times since reading it as the type of questions and problems I see aircraft owners run into on the aviation forums are all answered in detail in this book. The wealth of information in there is guaranteed to save aircraft owners thousands of dollars. It is also an essential book to get for those considering buying their first aircraft as the process is described in detail. Again, it could help you avoid those costly lemons!Mike's books are generally a compilation of his past articles. In this case the format works well. I found that in his "engines" book it took quite a bit of work to follow the more technical aspects of aircraft engines. Being printed in black and white that book didn't have the benefit of the clear explanatory color photographs that accompanied many of his original articles. In "Ownership" the black and white print is not an issue.

I bought all three:)
Great information. Well written and explained.Which, I think says a lot. This is very a technical and Mike does a great job making it easy to understand.Thank you for your in depth study and the passion you relay here. The world is a better place for having critical thinkers who challenge the "industry standards".You have helped me to better understand a subject that I am also passionate about... love those piston driven power plants:)

If you are getting or own an airplane you need this!
I’ve been flying for almost 40 years but never a plane owner. I have been considering buying an airplane or building one. The information in this book is a must read if you are buying an airplane. If you already own an airplane there is a wealth of info to save you money!!

I think I have a printer reject
I would give the book 5 stars but my copy begins on page 215 and on chapter 27. The index is in the middle of the book and in order to read chapter one, I have to go to the back of the book and turn the pages from left to right. Nothing against Mike Busch since he didn't print it but I think I got a copy that slipped past quality control. This isn't Japan is it?

You can't beat the voice of experience.
I'm starting to read this book (I'm no expert) and so far it's filled with great knowledge. It makes you change your perspective in different things. You can't beat experience. The book is easy to read (some lil concepts might be unknown to newbies in the subject, like "TBO", but there's always Google... and some do have the meaning of the abbreviations in the index in the back of the book, like AD = Airworthiness Directive). The books softcover is the one that you can see your fingerprints when you hold it, but hey, you got to save your bucks... No biggie. So actually, Thank you Capt. Mike for taking the time to share your knowledge with the world. Hopefully one day I'll be the proud owner of a Cessna 182.

Wish I would have had this book before we bought the plane!
Excellent book! I wish I would have read this before we bought our airplane, but then again, thankful that we took the plunge and it’s ours now. This book would have helped us save money on some of the maintenance (diagnosing) that we have paid for, and has some great tips for keeping logbooks current and what to look for in a mechanic and/or IA. I have enjoyed Mike Busch’s other books as well, and look forward to the second volume of this one. We will be much more informed when we buy our next airplane. This book is easy to read, has great stories that help illustrate the points, and has practical advice that can be applied immediately.

Great Mike!
I read Manifesto, than Engine and now Airplane ownership (1 of 2). Already bought vol 2.I’m a single private pilot flying two Cirrus, president of a local flying club in Lugano Airport. They are all a must read!To understand this complex flying world. To survive in that jungle of laws and maintenance. To fly safer, distinguish important thing from not essentially.Bravo Mike!

A must have for anyone with a interest in a GA aircraft.
This is probably the most valuable purchase you’ll ever make if you own a GA aircraft or a share in one. I’ve seen comments stating that most of this information is available from Mikes regular online articles and his You Tube videos. It is, but this collates all that information into one reference source, and I for one, could read this book several times over, watch all the YT vids, read the articles and still not fill my knowledge cup to the brim. There is just so much great stuff in here that I defy any one to read this and claim they have not learnt something new and important. Can’t wait for the next edition.

The book title says it all.
Even though I'm not based in the US this book is packed full of useful information. I didn't do many of the things he advises when I purchased my 2005 Cirrus 18 months ago (yikes!). Thankfully I haven't discovered any major hidden demons (yet??!). On the other hand some of the horror stories might have so made me so cautious that I may have missed out on all the enjoyment the last 18 months. In any case, its off to read those maintenance logs properly!
