When it works, it works great. But the buttons are sketchy and don't always work, even with brand new batteries. I bought this because I have got a Roku 2 at a garage sale. I couldn't set up the Roku 2 with just the app on my iPhone so I fought with this thing for over an hour to get the network settings done. It would work for two button presses, then I'd have to pull out a battery, then I'd get two more presses. (and it took me some time of fighting with the thing before I realized I could do this).Mostly I just use the app on my phone.

It's OK, that's about it. Mostly because it is an IR remote wheres as the original uses RF and the Roku 3 unit is rather finicky accepting IR signals. Have the same problem using our Harmony one with the Roku. I swear I turn the whole house upside down looking for original remote.But the best thing about this remote is, it slipped out of my lap one day and I followed it down to where the original remote had disappeared in the recliner. It was worth it's price in that respect.

These are NOT like the original Roku remotes. They are MUCH thinner and are VERY difficult to use. I bought TWO at the same time (because my son and husband kept misplacing them , so I wanted to keep a spare) but BOTH were the exact same way. To make it work, you have to press the buttons 4 or 5 times EACH time you need to use it. It doesn't matter WHICH button! They are ALL difficult to use.... I would not recommend...

The remoted worked straight out of the box. I just put the batteries on and it started controlling my roku.The purpose from buying this roku replacement remote was to give my RCARCRN06GR Universal Remote the option to learn the "back" button option; something that did not come by default when setting up the option to control the roku. Besides adding the "back" option to my universal learning capable remote, I took advantage of the built in buttons to access specific channels. It makes things more convenient when switching the device that gets displayed in the television.I am giving this item 5 stars because thanks to it my universal remote fully controls my roku and other devices.

I bought a replacement roku remote because the person I spoke to at roku on the phone told me I needed one. That was not true. A later phone call to another person solved the problem by resetting my device.However, I did receive the new remote in a timely manner.The problem is that when one places the batteries inside, it is impossible to close the battery compartment cover. There is a defect that prevents it from closing.Obviously, I am returning the device for refund.I never used it.

Lighter than a regular Roku remote but the buttons have been fine for use. My son likes it because of the "One-push" buttons that allow him to get to Netflix without trying to navigate the Roku menu (which isn't hard itself). Not sure how sturdy or how long this remote will hold up but for the price, I'm happy.

I bought two of these because we have three in our household, and they're always getting stuck in the couch or somewhere else. This one is a little more fragile than the Roku that came with the original set originally but it works just as well. I do like the option of going right to Amazon, Netflix, Hulu with one button push. At this price I would definitely purchase again.

As soon as I opened the box and held the remote in my hand I knew it was a substandard product. It's made from very light easy to crack plastic. It never functioned properly from the moment I attempted to use it. The red Netflix button was manufactured improperly so that it can not fit into its rectangular slot. Calling this remote a piece of junk is high praise. I'm partially to blame because I didn't carefully read the description. I read them carefully when I discovered the remote was broken only to learn this is not an "original" Roku remote.I own five Roku remotes and this remote is so inferior to the others. The others are made of strong but flexible plastic that can be dropped, stepped on or sat upon many many time without breaking. This reproduction is made from a brittle plastic that with crake very easily if dropped, stepped on or sat upon. It's a poor imitation of the real product and a waste of time and money.I searched for a "Roku remote" and so many popped up that it was comfusing. Too many choices but I should have looked more carefully and purchaed the correct replacement. Not a poor copy of the original. Even if this weren't broken upon receit I would have returned it because it's so poorly made that it would soon break. At least I can get a refund. The box it came in was not damaged so the damage occurred prior or packaging. It looks like it was damaged during the manufacturing process. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
