Gavean Astragalus Natural Moisturizing Shampoo, 8 Fl Oz, Sulfate Free All Hair Types

Bottle arrived with the cap fairly scuffed up. I would have expected a more “elegant” presentation. The day after its arrival, I decided to use it. I open the cap, and the shampoo is INCREDIBLY runny. A fair amount spilled on my carpet, I did not expect it to fall like water. Welp.. there goes $5. Lol.I find that only way to avoid this without needing a different container is to ever-so-slightly tilt the bottle in order to get some out as opposed to placing it directly above your hand, standing up straight. You will pour WAY too much before you can close the cap up if you do not do this. I mean, unless you’re The Flash or something, I cannot see how people get it out without waste. Another con would be shampoo also isn’t very foamy, making it harder to distribute throughout the hair. If you have a lot of hair, I’d recommend sectioning it off and then applying a SMALL amount to each section. It will still run away from you if you do not do this quick enough, as it goes straight through the closed fingers. (Seriously)Other than that.. nice shampoo, hair was noticeably softer after one use.Edit : product is $20 cheaper now.

As any woman who wants to have a cute short hairstyle, it takes a lot of styling products to achieve certain looks. I purchased this shampoo as I need something gentle for my sensitive skin and hair color, but still able to wash out all of the styling products from my hair, especially the waxes. The Gavean shampoo fits the bill perfectly. I’ve used supposedly Sulfate and Paraben free shampoos that left my hair flat and feeling like straw. I’ve been using Gavean for the last week and my hair feels clean, soft, and looks shiny. It has a nice silky lather, especially after the 2nd-3rd wash. You also don’t need to use a lot. I barely use a dime size on my short hair, so I would only assume that you’d use about a nickle size for longer lengths.I do have to say that while the aroma is similar to licorice root (I don’t think it has any, that’s just what it reminds of), it doesn’t linger and it doesn’t smell artificial like other “all natural” shampoos. I actually feel invigorated after using it. I’m excited to try adding the conditioner to my regiment and if they come out with a body wash I’d try that too.

Pretty thin shampoo. My wife and I aren't huge fans of it, but it does have a very natural scent to it.

I decided to give it a try.My hair has been severely dry and damaged (due to coloring, the sun, and the pool) and with this shampoo (and the conditioner) - I've seen so much improvement. It no longer feels like straw! My hair felt shiny and clean! And it smells amazing! It's very natural - and you can smell the lavender and basil that you see listed in the ingredients.Definitely give these products a try if you are looking for something more natural for your hair!

I previously used regular old shampoo full of sulfates and parabens and all the junk on my daughter's fine hair. We'd use a detangler spray and spend ages after trying to brush all the knots out while she frantically tried to run away. By the next morning her hair would be a matted mess again. I am not even sure how I stumbled upon this brand but we tried it with the matching conditioner last night and I forgot to brush her hair. Today her hair looked amazing! It had a little more volume, was shiny, and almost no tangles! I could work them out with just my fingers. AMAZING! The only thing not so great is the smell, but it doesn't linger.

I was a bit intrigued by this shampoo and even though it is rather pricey, I decided to give it a try. It has a rather unusual smell. I have had a long term issue with dandruff and every shampoo I have tried, included the medicated ones, only have helped some. The dandruff disappeared soon after using this shampoo. My hair seems clean....but, not dried out after my daily shampooing. I will be curious next time I go to the salon for a haircut, if the person who has cut my hair for the past 20 years, notices anything different about my hair

I was suffering from a dry scalp from all the ingredients in other shampoo. This is the first time in my life that my hair as looked this good and so soft. I will continue to buy this brand and shampoo and conditioner. In just one single use it eliminated my scalp issues and I could even smell the lovely natural of lavender/basil. Love love love this! And I have a lot of hair and its super thick and coarse. It didn't need foam a lot the first time like other chemical loaded products. Definitely recommend.

I was looking for a sulfate free shampoo with natural ingredients and came upon the name astragalus shampoo. Did a quick research and realized how amazing this herb is for hair, skin and body. There are even papers that study its effect on hair growth. So I was excited to try it out. The products had great effect on my hair even after the first wash. My hair was more manageable and felt healthy. The scent is a subtle basil/lavender that is not too strong. Now I'm curious to try the conditioner as well.
