I’m so glad I saw a review on here that said this dispenser worked well and I decided to get it. To everyone saying that it doesn’t work well, they obviously have no idea how to use one. This thing works GREAT!! And the tape that comes with it is thick and WILL HOLD. I used this to pack all my boxes when moving and noticed that it was a little more difficult to cut the tape but that’s because the tape is good quality. Definitely would buy again 5 stars!!

All I need is for a product to work. And if I re-order, that it hasn't changed significantly. When shipping a lot of boxes, there isn't time to untangle thin tape, which unfortunately is what we got with another brand. We ended up throwing away unused rolls and re-ordering this brand again.

This tape gun is beyond frustrating. When you first get it, it looks like you cannot see the blade. That is because it is covered by a little plastic cover. Someone else posted a picture saying it was missing the blade and I almost thought mine was missing too until I saw you had to remove the little cover. Once I figured that out, then I installed the tape, guided it through the silver guide and tried to dispense the tape. It did not work very well at all - the blade wasn't cutting the tape off very easily. To top it off, the tape constantly got stuck on the little silver guide all the time and the tape was impossible to dispense until I removed the roll and reinstalled the tape. Needless to say, this was returned pronto. Never again. I would recommend not buying this tape gun.

had none of the problems other reviewers mentioned. i dont do a lot of shipping but i figured it out pretty quickly. you have to press the plastic piece down and the blade comes forward. doesn't take a lot of pressure. the safety feature can be bypassed by sticking something small like a toothpick or hairpin behind the blade to keep it in the outward position. to cut the tape, just like any other tape gun, tilt it a little to one side and push down. if its not tilted and you cut the tape straight on, the tape could recoil back onto itself and you have to re-thread. this happens with almost all tape guns.

I quickly bought this as the price was to good to pass up and needed a box taper for my shipping boxes. When I got it, it was a solid construction. The tape presser (the clear plastic tongue) was very sturdy as well. Wasn’t till a few days later I used it. I had a tough time with cutting the tape effortlessly compared to others I’ve used. I realized then the tongue under pressure would raise the tape teeth. I found these caused damage to the box after I’d apply to much pressure to expose the teeth far enough for cutting the box tape. I’m making due with it and like the construction, but I find it a little cumbersome at times trying to cut the tape finding that happy spot it likes.

UPDATE: I gave my review another star because I found a workaround that makes the tool work well. Because the tool, the way it's shipped, will only cut the tape when you push hard enough on the spring-loaded plastic tab to make the cutting blade extend enough to cut the tape, I modified it so the cutting blade is out all the time. See the photos. I simply held the plastic tab back and inserted a screw behind the blade to hold the blade in the extended position. One screw on each side and now it cuts the tape simply by rocking the tool back to make the tape hit the blade. I don't need a flat box surface to push the plastic tab against in order for the blade to extend. Yay!The other issue with tape sticking to the spring-loaded door under the rubber wheel can still be a problem, sometimes, but I found that increasing the tension on the tape wheel (by turning in the knob in the middle of the wheel) makes the tape much less likely to get snagged on the spring plate. Yay again!So I like the tool, and of course the tape is the best packing tape I've ever tried. And I've tried numerous other brands of packing tape over the years and a few years ago finally decided that this is the best stuff out there. It is strong, it holds and it just works! Happy customer!I still only give this 3 stars because I had to modify the tool to make it work well. Glad it works now and I'll keep both of the ones I ordered, and it was a really simple fix, but without the modification this design is unsatisfactory.Original Comments:I used a packing tape tool like this years ago when I worked in a shipping dept, and I expected this one to work like the one I used years ago.Nope!The tape loads easily and the build quality is very good, but this design is only good if you're taping large boxes, I think, because of the "clever" mechanism that will only cut the tape when you tilt the tool away from the box so the clear plastic piece at the end can push into the side of the box with enough force to rock against the blade and push the cutting blade out where it can cut the tape.The other bother in the design is the spring-loaded tab that keeps the tape against the large rubber wheel; if you let the tape get slack at all, the tape will stick to that tab and because this tape is so gloriously sticky (that's why we buy it, right?) it adheres to the tab like epoxy, and it requires two hands to get the tape free of the tab!I purchased two of these to use in packing our household items to move across the country. As we try to use this to tape round items or small boxes, or heaven forbid we might just want to pull off a few inches of tape to hold down a corner of wrapping paper (!!), we end up with a tangle of tape and a wasted minute. As frustrating as it has been trying to use the little cheap plastic tape holders that come with the tape sometimes, it is faster to use them, and a lot less wasted tape!I"m going to send back the package and tool we haven't opened yet and yearn for the tool I used in the shipping dept days. This doesn't do the job.

Having used these tape dispensers for 25 years, I bought this new one but found that it has been redesigned and does not work well to cut the tape. I will now look for another model.

La cinta que incluye es gruesa y muy resistente

Quality of tape is decent , but the cutter doesn't work. Thought the tape itself was too thick to be cut, tried it with a thinner tape, the cutter still doesn't work :(
