Very happy with this product!! After having started with a good quality of kava tea then a few brands of tinctures, I felt ready to move it up a notch with the "real deal". I was not at alldisappointed with this brand. It IS anaquired taste, & one I had to blend intosmoothies & herbal teas for a while butnow, I can take it in sips & it's verysmooth, earthy, & effective.In looking for natural alternatives to relieve stress & anxiety, this seems todo the trick. Not being interested in prescription drugs for anxiety, I began researching kava. I'm a newb to the Kava World but learning & do use theknee-high stocking 'traditional' method& am getting some great results with this brand.This is my second time ordering thisproduct from Kalm. I wasted alot of it inthe first order while learning but after viewing some youtubes, buying a couple of Kava books, & reading a fewsites, I think I have it down pretty good now & with some awesome, relaxing results this time. Bought a good brandof powdered goat millk to add for the fatcontent while kneading & that seems to mellow out the strong, "muddy" taste,too. Very pleased with this product,now that I'm figuring out how to make it, & the delivery was fast. (Thanks Monsoon). Even went a step further &bought some coconut shells!! Just soooexcited to have found the 'real deal'. Seriously folks, read the kava sites,watch the youtubes, research & getinformed. Kalm responsibly & do notdrive while kicking back. Evening isbest if you have nothing to do. I make mine a day ahead & put it in the refrigerator overnight in a quart plungerpicther. Then drink the next eveningafter my day is done. Great for relaxing without next day hangover.Highly recommend this great product!Anyways, will definitely buy this again.

I purchased this because it is advertised as a sedating Kava. I was so excited that I tried it immediately after it was delivered in the morning. An hour later I was talking to a friend and was yawning again and again and again. I apologized and said, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’m never tired at this time.” Then I realized that the Kava had hit me. It was thirty minutes before work. I was relaxed and had no stress. Love this stuff but way too expensive for routine use. I may not buy again if I can find a substitute.

I have tried almost every quality/noble kava on Amazon and the KWK Borongoru is my absolute favorite! It may be on the more expensive side but with less expensive products I need at least twice as much to get the same effects.This particular "strain" is also my favorite in terms of specific effects - it can be used in smaller doses earlier in the day to eliminate anxiety, or it can be used in larger doses later in the day for muscle relaxation and to help with sleep.If you are new to kava, you do have to take some time experimenting with different preparation methods and learning to appreciate what may be subtle effects at first. It will probably never pack the same "punch" as alcohol or certain anxiety medications, but it also doesn't have any of the same risks.Nothing in the world clears my mind of racing, stressful, or distracting thoughts as effectively, without any side effects! No amnesia or messy effects that most medications cause. No nausea or groggy feelings the next morning, even with high doses. After a few servings, I'm left in a state of calm, content, clear-headedness that can last hours (basically until my next meal).I cannot recommend this product enough!Bula!

Every kava is different and every person reacts differently to each strain. I'm not going to say that it's bad quality, but I didn't like the effects that this particular kava had on me. It upsets my stomach, and it doesn't have that euphoric feeling that I get from other brands that are available on here for simular prices. It is potent, but not the kind of potent that leaves me wanting more like other kinds from Vanuatu that help me relax as well as feel good. My personal favorite is Kava Supreme. This blend is a course grind, not awful tasting, and is not hard to strain, but again, it's not something I would buy again because of the effects and GI distress. Some positives is that it is very sedating, so a little before bed might be helpful for a good night sleep

I used 4 tablespoons (approximately 1 ounce), with 16 ounces of 130 degree F water (to melt the thick coconut milk) and 1/3 cup coconut milk (the thick paste without the water, that settles in the can). I blended for 5 minutes on high. Then I used a knee high bought from WalMart (0.50 USD for a pair) to strain and squeeze. I added no sweetener.Amazingly with the addition of the coconut milk, it doesn't taste that bad, nowhere near a bottle of Gaia tincture (gah horrid stuff).I drank 8 ounces, has a pleasant body and emotional relaxational high, and fell asleep like a log for 9-10 hours. Woke a bit sluggish, but no hangover. No nausea or headache, nor gastro issues (no diarrhea). I drank the other 8 ounces this am -- and I feel great.If I wanted to get really mellow, I would have drank the entire 16 ounces (8 ounces at a time) last night. You do have to chug the stuff -- only a sado-masochist would sip. That said, the product definitely lives up to the feeling and potency as advertised.

The taste of this has been described as "earthy" and while it was that it also was horrendously bitter. But I have so much trouble sleeping that I forced myself to choke it down. Yes my tongue became numb (or was that just my taste buds refusing to function because the tea was SO horrible tasting). And no I did not feel any relaxation whatsoever and did not sleep any better. I am so unhappy that I wasted my money on this.
