Powers on Camera, but extra features do not work
I have a Canon T6i, and purchased this faux battery for when I do some astrophotography. This faux battery does work, if connected to a good battery source (constatn 2.1A, 5V output). The camera reports the battery as being 2/3 bars full and takes pictures all night long. My external battery pack barely drains (from 100% to 85% in a 4 hour astrophotography session.BUT. I recently started using a computer to connect the camera so I can start doing some advanced stuff with my gear. This requires that the Canon camera be connected to my computer via a USB cable. Using the faux battery, this feature does not work. Plug in a real battery, and the computer detects the camera. Remove real battery and use the faux battery again? Nope, won't do it. My assumption is that using the USB feature to connect the camera to a computer draws too much electricity for the faux battery to keep up.All in all, I'm going to keep it for the days where my setup will be a simple one. But I am buying extra batteries for the nights where I want to use my advanced setup.

Unhappy Canon Rebel T7i user
Another reviewer pointed out that this unit did not work for their Canon Rebel T7i. Had I read this review I would have skipped over this product.I also have a Canon Rebel T7i and I cannot get it to turn on using this accessory. The accessory consists of two parts:- A cable that has two male USB-A ends on one end, and converting to a barrel male barrel port on the other end.- The other cable is contains the faux battery pack on one end and the female barrel attachment at the other.I tried connecting this to a suitable power supply with both USB-A cables and the camera would not turn on. I also tried connecting a different barrel port wall adapter I had from another product directly into the female barrel port portion of the accessory and still my camera would not turn on.I'll be playing around with it for another hour or so to see if I can get it working, but overall I was upset at spending 30+ bucks on a falsely advertised product. I'll most likely be returning it if I can't get the camera to power on while using USB ports.*EDIT*6/12/2020 UpdateWell this unit fried my camera. When this product arrived there was no packaging, just some cables in a bag with a printed out piece of paper with information on both sides. Throughout the page this says to use AT LEAST something powering the cables with 5V and to have a 2A output. When I disconnected the usb cables and used an external wall adapter plugged into the barrel port portion, the output of my charger was 19V. This product does not have any sort of fail safe protection from over power and does not provide acceptable guidelines of what to use and what not to use. I say "use at your own risk".I ended up burning up my Rebel T7i. ='( So instead of being out $30 for this product, I'm out $700+ because now I don't have a working camera. Canon estimates a repair at like $220 + shipping.

It works!
If you are looking to place a canon dslr camera in a single spot, especially near or next to a pc, this works great! simply insert the dummy battery pack into the camera, and plug the two usb plugs into your computer. Key piece of info, my camera (T7i) requires that the battery cover is closed, but there is a small cut out on my camera that allows for the cables. Bottom line, it works! Now if only I could get the web cam software to work properly.

Did not work as advertised for Canon rebel T7i.
This item did not work. I used it on my canon EOS rebel T7i. I plugged it in to a sufficient USB wall plug, and it did nothing. Luckily I had another adapter cord from my breast pump that fit into this, so I used that and plugged it into the wall and it worked, the camera turned on! When I tried to use the camera to take a photo, it gave me an error message and did not work. Luckily I only need the plug to use with my Canon Utility software so I can stream and use my Canon as a camera, but the product did not work as advertised at all.

I almost returned this item.
the battery cover would not shut as the product would not lock into place. After pushing down on the battery with a knife while closing the door it finally shut and the product worked.

Almost perfect, but low battery icon
Really wanted this to work for my Canon T6i for HDMI capture, but the power being received makes the screen constantly show the low battery icon. Keeps the camera on and functioning, so this fully would have worked for regular use of the camera functions, but doesn’t allow me to get a clean HDMI output for a capture card. Tried using all the recommended power options and beyond.
