First mechanical keyboard for work, practical yet awesome typing feeling!!!
This is my first mechanical keyboard in the 21st century. Back in the 20th century, we used to play with the mechanical keyboard (Alps switches) as default input devices. While working remotely, I wanted something to not only improve the remote working experience, but have fun. This leads to the new input device search. It took me about 2 months to pick the right keyboard.Typing experience (and sound): not clicky as Blue switches, but could feel the slight bump when I press the key - since I don't have other types of mechanical switches, I do not know the other typing feeling other than Blue. Most conventional keyboards I own might have membrane, rubber dome, or scissor switches - I have no idea which one has what, but none sounds/feels like mechanical switches. Very pleasant feeling (immediate feedback can be felt), but little noisy due to my typing style (according to my wife, I type angrily - sounds like heavy rain on the metal roof). Maybe bottoming out on every key stroke... This is a very subjective matter which it is very difficult to define and measure. I need to monitor its noise level longer in order to determine whether it's okay to use this at work.Layout: it's very compact - only 68 keys. I actually wanted the full size keyboard, but realized that was not the point for a new keyboard - I want to improve home office ergonomics and productivity. I was stuck in between TKL and bare minimum. Then, I found 68-key layout with a dedicated arrow keys (separated from other keys). I used a lot of spread sheets as well as a lot of emails. Strangely, more typing functions/conditions/etc than entering numbers itself. Still using a lot of excel hotkeys. Based on my work pattern, this keyboard is the best fit. It might take some time to familiarize all keys via combo keys (fn + some other key, especially home and end buttons). Learning something new!!!Desk setup: I am using a trackball on my left, keyboard at the center, and mouse on my right. Thanks to its compact size, I can set up all these tightly without causing any constraints on my shoulder or arms.Extras: I don't need a backlit feature for work, but it can be handy sometime (I don't know when I would use this yet).Happy typing!!!

Keyboard works well, right form factor for me
Got this keyboard because of its portability and good quality keycaps. It was a 68% keyboard - larger than a 60% but smaller than a TKL keyboard. Appreciated how sturdy the board was - took it on vacation in my backpack and it still works well. Gateron Brown switches are genuine and have a nice tactile feel to them. Keycaps feel high quality. Only downside is that you can't see when you have capslock on as they aren't shine through doubleshot keycaps. Would get a Gateron Red switch and/or 2.4 GHz Bluetooth version of the same keyboard if Magicforce ever makes one.
