FANTECHCG 4 Contour Grille with Collar for 4" Duct

I do not like the collar design. The collar must be mounted to wood in the ceiling. That means an extra trip up into the attic. Now I have to crawl through that blown-in insulation, take a measurement, go back down, cut a board, go back up with board screws, and drill. Why not make a design that one guy can mount from below? Also, the system is not air tight, they used foam as a gasket. In a wet enviroment a flat mount design would have been air tight, this is going to leak wet air into the attic. I guess I have adjusted my attitude to all this poorly designed chinese junk.

I've seen this model (CG 4) from lots of vendors, and some of the picture make it look better than others (3 different images.... the 2 that I received, are butt ugly and cheap looking on the bathroom ceilings. Also, when I put one in to try it out, it got damaged when one of the metal clips came out. Unfortunately, I didn't unbox them for months because the pandemic stopped my project cold. Disappointed.

It's exactly what you think it is - but not everything it should be.

This replaced one that's been outside for over 23 years. It's not exactly the same, but does the same job. I should have replaced the old one a long time ago.The last mounting is different, but I just used some silicon caulking to hold it in place.

It just works and is much quieter than most fans purchased at the big box store. This was installed in a guest bedroom that holds a lot of moisture in the summer time. If it is left on 24/7 I believe the moisture problem would go away but I should of purchased a dehumidifier. The guest who need white noise say it is perfect for them.

Easy to install if you have a 4" hole cutting tool. Took about 15 minutes to mount in my workshop ceiling. Vent opens or closes by rotating the round faceplate.

Worked as expected.

They work great for bathroom remote exhaust fans. Have used them many times.
