This is a real, working metal stem watch (as opposed to the cheap plastic  The Doctor's Fob Watch with Metal Keychain ) that not only looks great, it keeps great time. It is not, in the truest sense of the word, a "replica".. it is a bit too small and the Gallifreyan writing on the back is missing, but otherwise it is incredible. Unlike the picture, the entire face is a mirror-like finish that lights up from behind. While this makes it a bit hard to see the hands, it is incredibly cool and is a true representation of the watch as seen in the season 3 episode "Utopia". The entire outside of the watch is metal and the cover is incredible with etched Galligfreyan writing on the outside and the swirled treatment to the inside. This is a real, working fob watch that is run by batteries (three in all) and is set by the stem. The back is easily removable for battery replacement. The light creates an eerie green glow that passes through more of the face than you would expect.This is a great investment or gift for any Doctor Who fan. It is solidly built and should last for years (just remember to replace the batteries if they die).

Arrived promptly, and looked great. Lit up just fine, so clearly the battery was in good shape, but the watch mechanism did not function. I could move the hands and set the time, but they would not move on their own. Very disappointing.

Thank you to the reviewers who mentioned that there are THREE batteries inside this watch. Two larger ones for the light, and a smaller one underneath that controls the time. My watch came with the light working, but not the time. I replaced the small 3rd battery, and it works great now.To remove the back, there's a very very tiny indentation that you can fit a tiny flat screwdriver into to pop off the back. On YouTube, I also saw someone use the tip of an exacto knife. It's very hard to see the notch/indentation in the edge of the back cover. Mine was at the bottom edge of the back, but look very carefully around the entire edge of the back. Once you have something flat in that notch, give it a twist to pop off the back, or pry your way around the edge until the back lifts off.The watch is a dull metal. Kind of like a lightweight tin or maybe aluminum?I think the detail on the watch is nice, the glow is neat too (The side button on the right is for the light.). However the silver background behind the numbers makes it very hard to see the hands and the time.Is this an exact screen accurate reproduction? No, but it's pretty good for a $10 toy! It's a little small. There's the button for the light on the right hand side (which you can remove if you want, but then you can't use the light!) The face of the clock is shiny metal, not white. Looks kind of cool, but as I said above, it's really hard to see the time or the watch hands with the shiny reflective metal background. The outside back of the watch is smooth metal. No indentations. The etchings on the front of the case are not black, but you can rub some paint or black marker on there and wipe it off to see those details better. For purists, the case graphics seem to match the watch graphics from a Dr Who computer game. They're close to the real watch fob graphics, but not exact. Possibly due to the size being a little smaller than the real ones, which allows for a little less detail (like the largest rings) and also because the outer edges of the graphics are a little cut off in the computer and this version.Is it worth about $10? If you're a Who fan, yes. It's fun. And seems to be pretty well made. But this stock has obviously been sitting around for a while, so expect to have to replace the batteries and you won't be disappointed. (I bought  Maxell SR626SW 377 Silver Oxide Watch Battery 5 Pack , but you can get other brands. Also mine didn't need the larger batteries replaced. That's a link for the small "time keeping" 3rd battery.)FYI, There's also a Doctor's Fob watch (vs this one, "The Master's") The Doctor's watch is larger and plastic (though the chain is metal like this one.). That one has lights and sounds. This one has a kind of eery green light, and no sounds.EDITING June 2019Still working. Lights and time. Mine mostly sits in a box and doesn't get much use but it all still works. FYI after 2 years, the time is about 5 minutes fast but lots of "non internet connected" watches and clocks drift over time. Just wish I could see the hands more easily. That shiny background makes it hard!

My 15 year old nephew is a huge Dr. WHO fan. We gave him t his pocket watch for X-mas. He really seems to like it. I don't know much about Dr. Who, so I don't know if the design of this watch is directly tied to one of the characters or not, but he seemed to recognize the design immediately. The watch is very attractive and sturdy feeling. It has a nice moderate weight to it, not bulky but not flimsy either. The metal finish isnt shiney, so you dont have to worry about fingerprints. It has a cool lighting feature, too. Press a button on the side, and it almost looks like it glows in the dark.The packaging is terrible, a cheap looking clear plastic hanging sleeve thing...like toys are sometines packaged. We removed it from its original package and put it in a jewlery box before we gifted it...the packaging is my only complaint. A nice box would be way more useful!

I thought the Doctor Who pocket watches were cool -a little bit different from the other watches out there.I ordered this watch and the seller was very good, as I received it earlier than expected. The watch itself is pretty nice for beinga toy but it is certainly not as nice as a fancy pocket/fob watch, although the design is unique and really something. This one is actually metal, as stated in the product description. I will say the outside could be a little bit more on par with an upscalepocket watch, but its not horrible. I have not had this long enough to see how well it keeps time. The real charm of thisis the face of the watch. I find it to be really beautiful, and I wish the outside was more like the inside. The face is verybrilliant silvery/metallic with gold hands and metallic black roman numerals. it has a really nice design grooved into it with fine detail. The grooved part of the face lights up in a green sort of glow which works fine on my watch and also looks really cool.I would love a more high quality replica pocket watch based on this design, but overall its not bad and I stress, the watchface is absolutely beautiful! It looks great when illuminated as well as without the light. The design of the outside is good but it doesn't seem as well carried out.

E' stato un regalo per il mio ragazzo che ama questa serie tv e ne è stato entusiasta! Uno dei migliori regali che potessi fargli! Credevo fosse un giocattolo o che non funzionasse e invece funziona benissimo ed è un vero e proprio orologio con in più la funzione di illuminazione. La consegna ci ha messo i tempi prestabiliti (un paio di settimane).

Je vais offrir cette montre à gousset à mon Chéri, qui est fan du Docteur. Je pense qu'il va l'adorer. La montre est en métal brossé argenté. On n'a pas l'impression d'avoir un jouet dans la main, mais plus une montre de qualité. L'éclairage est très pratique, et permet de bien voir l'heure.. La chaine qui permet de l'attacher au pantalon a l'air solide, et l'attache tient bien : c'est bien simple, j'en ai eu du mal à la retirer. ^^En bref, un très bon produit. D'ailleurs, je vais le recommander à une de mes connaissances fan du Dr Who.

(This review is by my 10 year old who owns the watch!)I got this watch for Christmas and I love it! The way that's its a cool Doctor Who watch but that it actually works is the best!!!!!!
