I really wanted to give this a better review.
After the many lovely 5 star reviews I decided to get these over some of the pretty designed regular wood/bamboo ones that cost less than these. I have regular bamboo ones which I use all the time and after having used some metal ones at a Thai restaurant wanted to get some. So it's not like I'm a newbie with chopsticks. These are beautifully crafted with no flaws; there's a little ribbing on the ends for picking up food and a little stippling at the top where you hold them. These are 9 inches long and I thought they would weigh more but they're rather light at .7 oz or 20 grams for 1 pair. The sleeves they come in are sewn together from 1 piece of cloth to which I wasn't really impressed with, but I modified it easily.Even with all good reviews and even my own positives I was originally going to give them 3 stars because of the following: If you have anything that's slick these can't pick it up. I had a bowl of fruit and I couldn't grasp anything, they all slid out. After a few annoying tries I set them aside and took out my regular bamboo ones which picked all of it up easily. However, I changed my mind because these are really beautiful chopsticks and most foods I eat aren't slick like fruit. It does do well with vegetables, sticky rice and so on. But I do eat a lot of fruit and I like my chopsticks to be reliable for everything - so just 4 stars for this.

Great purchase
PROS:Firstly, the difference between these and wooden chopstick is very slight, noticeable, but slight. They clean up great and that's what I was looking for to replace some wooden "to go" sticks. They are very well made and I'm sure will last a lifetime if you don't abuse them (power food disposal?). If you've ever been to a restaurant that uses those plastic or melamine chopsticks, then you'll feel the same way eating with these... just a tiny bit slippery compared to wooden ones. I still use my wooden chopsticks at home, but for lunch or travel the worthiness of these cannot be overstated.CONS:The "case" they came with is no more than a fabric slipcase made of the same material as reusable grocery bags and really adds no value to the item at all, however I still find that they are worth every penny in my case. If you're only going to be using chopsticks at your home, just purchase a nice wooden set with a case and take care of them. If they're going to work or school with you in a backpack or lunch sack, snag a set of these and you won't regret it.

Elegant, simple tools
I expect that almost everyone enjoys the feel of fine tools, of one sort or another. Chopsticks are some of the most rudimentary, basic tools imaginable - yet their purpose is very near and dear. From seamless and symmetric crafting, excellent balance, and lovely finish and form, these basic tools bring elegance to their task without too much elaboration. The resistance to wear and corrosion one would expect from a stainless steel utensil makes them an all-around win.A warning concerning their availability. After purchasing my first set I gave away a pair to a friend who turned me on to stainless steel chopsticks (by giving me a pair of korean-style ones that she brought back from Indonesia). I was then disappointed to discover that I couldn't replace the pair I gave away - they were no longer available for sale, anywhere. I tried another brand, but they were nowhere near as fine. I eventually discovered these for sale again on Amazon, sporadically, and hope they will continue to return. (Perhaps that's a marketing ploy - one that's effective with me. I've since been sort of hoarding them, getting more than I need. :-) Partly from self-interest, I hope that others will discover and enjoy them, strengthening their place in the market...

Fantastic! Looks great, and handles awesome!
These babies are super sweet. They look killer awesome with their shiny stainless steel finish, with a very nice brushed steel texture at the ends for better gripping. In fact, they were hard to hold at first, until I realized that you were supposed to grip them at the textured ends; after that, using them was a snap!-As you would expect with metal, these are heavier than, say, wood or plastic chopsticks, but the extra weight is almost unrecognizable once you get used to them, or if you're particularly good and handling chopsticks.-There's even a few grooves near the tip, to help with gripping slippery foods, which is fantastic as they really do work as intended!-Finally, my favorite thing about these chopsticks is that they clean up unbelievably easy. Just run them through some hot soapy water, and they're clean and ready to use again in just a few seconds!-At the price, and the fact that you get two in the package, including a really nice carrying sleeve, this is just too good a deal to pass up for the Asian food connoisseur.

It's not perfect, but good.
These are great, premium quality chop sticks that are not too heavy or light. They have a nice polished finish and a grippy, frost-like finish by the handles. My only problem with these is that they are slippery when eating certain foods, such as ramen. There are small engraved ribs at the tip of the chop sticks to compensate for this, but sometimes the ribs rub against my teeth when I pull the chopsticks out of my mouth; and when I do, it feels rather harsh. This doesn't always happen, and it is preventable but I'm just here to let you know that it's not perfect, but isn't a bad chopstick to own.I'm not from a pro, but I've been using chop sticks my whole life.
