LOVE! Replaced a 15-yr zoji machine....awesome!!
We've had our faithful zojirushi 3-cup rice cooker for over 15 years, and we 'just' started to realize that 'maybe' the non-stick coating isn't a good idea.....strange it never occurred to us before. We cook rice, quinoa, soup & beans in our rice cooker - maybe use it once per week, sometimes more, sometimes less. After just one use, I can say I'm IN LOVE WITH THIS RICE COOKER!!! I ADORE the CERAMIC inner pot, so easy to clean, so much healthier than any coated-non-stick bowl!! I also really like the size, it actually weighs LESS than our tiny 3-cup zoji machine (without the ceramic pot) and is not much bigger! So it fit in the same space in our pantry. We immediately tried it out, basmati rice 1.5 cups with 1.5 cup water - PERFECT fluffy cooked rice!! Just after, we did a soup with a dry soup-mix (just add water) and it cooked that perfectly too.Cooks just as fast as our previous zoji-machine - is VERY similar in construction...the only difference is there is no 'drain cup' on the back (we were worried the dripping condensation would collect in the rim, but it seemed to do just fine without the drip cup!). Super simple auto-cook, press 'rice' + 'start' or same for other items.Awesome with awesome sauce!!

pretty good rice cooker
This is a pretty good rice cooker. The design looks very nice and I really like the ceramic inner pot. It is not sticky at all and very easy to clean after cooking. It also cooks the rice the way I wanted. When I use it to cook rice with sausage, the rice turns out to be soft and sticky overall but crunchy at the bottom. However, it does have a plastic smell for the first couple times when I cook rice. As I cook more, the smell did go away. Overall, this rice cooker meets my expectations and I would recommend it to others.

Rice cooker for the birds
This is my first rice cooker, what decided me on this specific model is the ceramic bowl, which is 3lb. I needed something bird safe, and was looking for an uncoated option. You need to cook at least 2 cups of rice. It takes about 45 minutes to cook, NOT two hours like another recent review stated (which prompted my review). Makes a musical tone when done. Recommended not to use the keep warm setting longer than 5 hours. It was a bit smelly the first time I used it but it burned off and no problems since then. There is no countdown timer when it’s cooking just a circling indicator that is cooking. The clip for the rice paddle is not very sturdy but it works ok. I’ve used this rice cooker many times and have been happy with its ease of use. I do wish it had an off button but it’s easy enough to unplug. The big button on top is easy to open and shut. The rice cooker is “cute” like something that is in a Ghibli movie

Was ok but stopped working shortly after 1 year
I have had it for only slightly over a year. Worked fine earlier. All of a sudden it will not heat up. And realized it just pass the 1-year warranty. We had a much cheaper rice cooker before this one, no problem even after 6 years. We thought this would be an upgrade and no brained. Given the fact that it stopped working shortly after 1-year warranty, I would not recommend this rice cooker for this price.

First ever rice cooker
Never ever had a rice cooker, nor ever ate rice from a rice cooker, but recently I had such wonderfully textured rice at Asian restaurants that I decided that I must try to improve my rice cooking. I cooked it fine on the stovetop, no problem, but after having such a great texture at Chinese restaurants, I wanted to have that at home. So, I looked and looked and tried to figure out which to buy, and I didn't want a regular teflon which get great reviews until you're eating teflon and have the throw the whole thing in the landfill. So, finally I made the decision to try this one. It is easy to use, though, I had no problem making rice before.....what I wanted, was excellent texture. This cooks the rice very nicely with improved texture......the rice doesn't split open, like can happen when I cook it on the stovetop. I am Pa Dutch, and a decent cook....but want to up my rice game. So, I bought a different rice on Amazon to also try. I think this rice cooker works well, and the 2 times I've used it, it cleans out ridiculously easily and the paddle that comes with it is super great. Like it....and I have a tiny kitchen and I don't even know where I can possibly put it. But, I like it....so, we'll figure that out. So, I think I just may want to try a nice firm rice, and then maybe I will be as happy as I'm going to be. This definitely is an improvement over what I was making on the stove top and it's easy to clean up.

Works Great, Actually Non Stick
I've held off reviewing this for 2 months to make sure I got some good use out of it. The quick verdict: it's great!A little more in depth: It's been fantastic for 2 months. I have only cooked riced in it, so no comment on the porridge or other settings. I can say it does a a great job on white and brown rice, and the ceramic pot is every bit if not more non-stick than the Teflon pots. It takes a little while longer to cook rice than our former Zojirushi, but not a crazy amount of time. The instructions and buttons on the machine are definitely catering towards English as a second language, but luckily anyone with basic familiarity with a rice cooker can operate this this. The buttons are labeled in English for "rice" and "start," so should be enough to get it done for most people. It also keeps rice piping on hot on "keep warm," and cleans up super easy, so not much to complain about here. I would certainly buy again!
