Don't know why I waited
My son has a 50 gallon tank and we have replaced the light ballast a few times because of the moisture. Finally said enough was enough and upgraded to this light. First it is absolutely amazing, the light it gives off cannot compare to anything else I have seen. The blue light for nighttime is an added feature and a nice touch and my son loves to use it. The design is also great because it does not sit on the actual hood, there are two arms that rest on the tank, that is the only downfall of the design. The arm have nothing to grip the tank, so the light slid a little bit the first few days. I used tape on each side to keep it in place and fixed that problem. I may try to do something else to secure it a little better, but not right now. For the price, it is well worth it and a great buy.

Nice light
Let me start by saying wow! Super bright! I bought a 55 gallon aquarium about 6 months ago with lids that had built in LED’s. Unfortunately, after about 2 months, both LED strips on the lids went out since apparently they were not designed to be waterproof (wow... great design right?). So i started thinking.. “how can i create my own lids, add quality lights, keep them waterproof, while keeping total cost down as much as possible?”. With these thoughts in mind, i went to my local hardware store and had them cut me two rectangles of single pane sheet glass for about $7 to work as lids. Worked perfectly. After this, i went on amazon and did some research on LED’s since they’re sort of a new concept to me. I found youtube videos of people making DIY light fixtures by using a 16 foot LED strip and some cut up vinyl gutter. Seems like this would be the most cost effective right? Well, not really because after you buy all the materials from home depot to build the fixture (reflective tape, gutter, pvc, nuts/bolts) and the LED strip itself, the total cost of the build comes to about $45. So with a $20 price difference between building my own and buying this fixture i figured i would give this one a chance and return it if i didn’t like it. Took it out of the box, put it on my new DIY lids, plugged it in, toggled with the flip switch and boom. Let there be light! Would highly recommend this light.

Nice Aquarium Light
We bought this unit three and a half years ago and it has been great. The moonlight mode is perfect for our fresh water community 50 gal tank, and the white/daylight mode emboldens colors and our fish are very happy. We have a very low incidence of algae, just enough to keep the Placaustimus and Cory cats happy. It suddenly stopped working this past weekend, so we immediately bought another of the same unit. It turns out the light itself is fine, the power supply went bad. But we figure that four years is a good life and wanted the same unit again. Very happy with this purchase.

Great Light, equivalent to the more expensive ones. Love it.
Light originally came with a defective power cord. Got a new one from the mfr the same week. Now have a working light. As others have said it is very bright. I have a 4ft long tank and was originally using 1 10000k bulb and 1 actinic (blue) bulb. I've now switched over to this light which is putting out more light than what I had. Build quality is great! I feel like its equivalent to the more expensive ones. The only thing I would change about it (and its minor to me) is that I would like to see two power cords: 1 for the blue and 1 for the others) instead of having the power switch. My old light had two cords and its useful if you have the lights on a timer since then you can turn on just the blue at night without touching your power timer. Again, its minor.

VERY happy I leaped to LED
I hesitated when the hood on my fish tank failed. I'm old school, I don't like change. Browsing for a new hood/light, I looked at this (and other LEDs) and thought, nope, looks scary. It's not just screwing in a light bulb....but I kept coming back and looking at it. Finally, I leaped. Add to cart, check out. 2 days later, it was here. Packaged very well. Easy "assembly" just plugging in the figure to the power supply then to the wall. Crossed my fingers and turned it on. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Significant difference from the old tube lighting. Everything even looks cleaner! I like the night setting as well. A beautiful blue glow. I hope it lasts a good long time and I'll enjoy every minute of it. ***Tank is 75 gallon***

Having The Right Equipment Makes A Difference
Ever since I started using this light my salt water tank is booming with life. I was not sure about a LED light , but now I am a believer.

Wow - what a difference!
Converted my old fluorescent lighting to LED - WOW - what a difference! I love the all blue light for night time. I am glad I went to LED. Nice product - fits nicely on my hood. I added a couple pieces of plastic to the ends to eliminate the light leak (my tank is longer than the lights). But it is gorgeous. The KOVAL light fit well - was packaged very securely. I just took it out, set it on the hood and plugged it in. Works great. Nice price, too.

Fits like a charm
I have this on a split-hood 50gal tank :). Fits like a charm, and lights up the tank beautifully. Wanted to replace our existing tube lights, and decided to try LED since our tube lights have a habit of melting the plastic inside the hood around the bulb (I use a timer, so no reason for this). The slim line design of this light makes it look more aesthetically appealing even when it is off. Since I left my hood on the tank I simply flipped the hangars the other way so it stands over the tank rather than hangs, and the feet sit well in the tiny gap between the hood and the tank lip so the light is secure. Should have bought something like this years ago!Edited to add some pictures :)
