Didn’t meet my expectations
The setup is straightforward however it’s worth checking signal coverage/quality between your WiFi router and preferred location.I wasn’t impressed with the signal quality and continuity over a distance of 25ft line of sight. My sight survey equip recorded excellent signal coverage and strength for both 2.4/5 ghz, however this device just about picked up the signal and has left me with very poor connectivity and latency when remoting into the device. I am forced to use low quality video as a result.TP needs to look at ways to improve signal coverage such incorporating a power line module.I’ve even tried using a TP WiFi booster plugged in between my router and the cam location. The gain is less than 5% so a pointless excercise.Considering this model has been designed to be located outside, TP Link haven’t produced a device which fulfils that role. In my view this product is not fit for purpose unless you place the camera less than 3 meters from a serving WiFi router. Based on my testing. The IR reach during low light recording is simply awful. My cam covers a small 2 square meters directly in front of the lens and the image is barely illuminated. I would not recommend this device for those needing coverage for large areas at night. Based on my experience large is anything bigger than 2 meters distant. Very disappointing.Others may have a different view.
