Lorell SOHO Mobile Cabinet, Black

I want to start off by stating that this cabinet is surprisingly very, very sturdy; I'm a small woman and had to carry this up two flights of stairs without being winded! The quality/price ratio is spot on here. The wheels are nice, but it's a filing cabinet that's neatly wedged between two desks, so those aren't too important for my needs. I'd imagine that this wouldn't wheel around at random on hardwood floors, but my office space has thick carpet.Assembly: There's really nothing to it other than knowing how to use a Philips screwdriver and basic reading comprehension. A word of warning, though - once you screw the wheels in, they definitely aren't coming off without a lot of force and a kit. All of the drawers are blocked at the end, so they won't come off if you pull too hard. The handles are hard plastic and seem pretty tough, but time will tell how well they hold up.Lock: This is where things get slightly interesting. The quality of the lock itself is decent, but it leaves a little to be desired since it's wiggly. Unless you're holding some classified items in the lockable drawer, this shouldn't be an issue. We've tested it with two people pulling while another held it steady, and it wouldn't budge. The keys are a bit flimsy, but that's nitpicking at this point.Quality: Like I stated before, this cabinet is very sturdy. I will say that it's a bit wobbly on the sides, so I would be careful of the environment that you put it in. I did place a very, VERY heavy bass amplifier on top of it for a few hours while I rearranged some things, and there wasn't so much as a dent on it - but I WAS careful. The finish on it is like any filing cabinet you'd come across in a generic office.This fits standard filing folders and letterheads, like this one in case anyone was wondering. I've stuffed the second drawer with documents, receipts, misc accounting items, etc, with the top drawer holding spare office supplies like staples and envelopes, and the bottom holding a boatload of printer paper and ink cartridges.Pictures: I took some pictures of it between two desks, a close up of the handles, one of the lock, how the wheels look against carpet, and the first two drawers. There's about 4.5 inches more drawer than shown (of the one with the files).In conclusion, this filing cabinet is quality enough for those on a budget or don't require a florid filing system. Personally, I believe this will do just fine for a home office or small business. If you have questions about it, I'll try my best to answer, but it's really a no-brainer. At this price, you bet you're getting a bang for your buck.

Good File Cabinet for the price, function and versatility. Very light, took some time to figure out how to put the wheels in the back of the cabinet. Key comes insides drawer. After installing wheels the drawer moves smooth.The drawer when you lock it, only the middle drawer gets lock. bottom does not lock. This File cabinet is good for home use, but would not recommend it for a business use or public office. The file cabinet has a gap when close and locked that a knife or screw driver can easily be inserted in order to force it open.The File cabinet does not feel heavy duty like the ones on my job where you can easily hit them, stand up on them, try to force it open and nothing will happen, if you try to do that on this Lorell File Cabinet I got the impression that you would easily break it.I would highly recomend this File Cabinet for home only, where you are the only person going into the cabinet for your important documents oand need some level of security.Design looks sexy, wheels work wonderfully, small third Drawer on the top is a plus, light, and most important of all gets the job done.

I purchased this cabinet to keep at home as a safe place for important documents that is more organized than a lockbox. I wanted a modern looking one that wasn't that awful tan/beige color and could easily be moved around the condo.This fit the bill, it is stylish enough and the price is great. The wheels make it exceptionally easy to move around. The drawers open and close smoothly and the footprint is just what I was looking for.For installation, I would recommend a drill to install the self-tapping metal screws for the wheel brackets. It can be done with a screwdriver, but the drill makes it quick and easy.

Only assembly is to attach roller casters to bottom. For my application, I took wheels off when I realized that I had a size issue and the bottom of the file is smooth and slid easy. Locks easily. Thin steel but for fifty bucks, what do you want? I bought another one for my wife after this came in and saw it. Black finish so under desk it sort of dissappears. Arrived without a scratch, Styrofoam padding about an inch thick and box is heavy cardboard. If it arrives damaged, the shippers fault, not the manufacturer.Pros: price, drawers have tall sides so you can store stuff in them, not just files. Slides are sturdy. Drawer slides are very sturdy. As you can see I have it loaded and slide open and closed easy and feel very sturdy and solid.Cons: it's light weight steel, but it's cheap so that's not really a con I guess. Otherwise none.Only thing I'd consider doing different is getting one with one file drawer, a thinner center storage drawer and a thicker pencil drawer rather than two file drawers, but that's my choice.Update: Ordered a second one for the Mrs. and it arrived in perfect condition just like the other one. Both boxes were left on porch without a scratch on them.

I love these so much I ended up buying 4 of them. They come with wheels though I don’t use them. Top drawer is awesome storage for smaller items. I love the look of these very solid cabinets. Worth the money.

It is literally one of the best retail product that I have purchased over the 5 years in my personal and businesses life. I will buy another one within a few months. It is PERFECT for Condo/Apartment situation. I really like the rolling function with the rolls at the bottom.
