Great fish sauce! No sugar.
An excellent product - great tasting and full of umami flavour. Expensive? Yes. But considering it is used sparingly I think the investment is worth it. I have made a great green curry with it and also added it to other stir fries and even marinades. And most importantly it is sugar free.

Delicious umami!
No additives or preservatives, yet adds fantastic flavour to various dishes. A little goes a long way. Very much value for money.

HUGE difference to normal supermarket alternatives
Ok so it's around three times the price than the fish sauce you'd buy in a supermarket - so is it worth it? Absolutely 100%. The difference in flavour and smell is hugely apparent and very obvious in the finished meal you have cooked. It's far less salty (if used in moderation), far less "fishy" (I know that sounds odd - but of course fish sauce is for depth of flavour and not to make something taste of fish) and just overall feels like a premium product, which it is.Yes it's more expensive, but it's not a bank breaker and there is a tangible difference in terms of being significantly better for the extra cost that makes the purchase worthwhile, and it'll last a good while without going off.An analogy for this sauce would be: If your supermarket "normal" fish sauce is a frying steak, this Red Boat nuoc mam premium Fish Sauce would be a fillet steak - both are nice steaks, but the fillet steak is classier and tastier. Exact same comparison applies for this sauce.

Simply the best
If you do a lot of Asian cooking then this has such a clean taste I can say you will never use any other again.

FISH PUNCH!
So, I take it you're here because you like to cook? Perhaps you love making stirfries, fried rices, or other asian/asian inspired dishes.. Well, we all know you need fish sauce for that, I mean it's pretty much bottled umami (Basically flavour). Anyway, I bet you've got that terrible blue dragon fish sauce, right? Yeah, it's not great, I promise you. Please get rid of that, because if you respect flavour and enjoy cooking, you NEED this stuff... "Why?" I hear you ask, well... when making fish sauce, the anchovies are put in a giant wooden barrel (Typically) and then left to ferment with just salt. Upon fermenting, the juices that are left essentially are what is known as fish sauce. Where it really differs is that the fish that is fermenting isn't discarded after the first "press". The first press is generally reserved for higher quality, purer and better-tasting fish sauce, such as this Red Boat's sauce. Many cheaper sauces, use 2,3,4th pressed fish, whereby the majority of the umami has been pressed out and reserved for the higher quality sauces, so they are basically watered down and not great. But there is none of that with Red Boat, it's pure, pungent and punchy, I promise it will add that extra kick of flavour to your dishes.(I can't actually remember where I obtained that information, but I'm 98.33% It's accurate, was either a show explaining how fish sauce was made or an article. But even if I am wrong, which im pretty sure im not, this sauce is 10/10)My only gripe that it's expensive as heck for a sauce, but if you cook enough, it's worth it. It's time and money to make good quality ingredients, so I guess that's reflected, though I wish it was about £6-7 and I'd be flawlessly happy with this.

Sensational taste, perfect with left over roast chicken
Really tasty, I've finally bitten the bullet and had a go at making my own nuoc mam for the first time in years.Brings back the memories as I used to make this when I was a child for my mum in the kitchen.Have been struggling to find a decent fish sauce that isn't really bland or from Thailand.Bought this based on the reviews and research on the Internet, and glad I did as its worked out in the end.I ground together garlic, white sugar and red chillies, mixed with hot water to dissolve, then added half a tablespoon of fish sauce and a generous squeeze of lime juice.Used it as a dip for my roast chicken meat for dinner last nightSensational!

Way too expensive to ship to Ireland, but excellent and with no sugar!
My partner can't stomach sugar, dextrose, etc. and we both like Asian-style cooking. So, finally found this as most fish sauces have sugar. This doesn't, and it has great flavour. Not really their fault you also have to go through An Post to get it to Ireland. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend it on flavour itself.

Excellent value and flavor
Fish sauce is a must-have umami ingredient. With the exception of hard to find and expensive super-premium aged and/or squid fish sauces, Red Boat regular is the mellowest and most flavorful you'll find.

The ONLY fish sauce
I got this on a recommendation from Brian Lagerstrom and he wasn't exaggerating. The difference between this fish sauce and the sauces I'd used before is like night and day - Red Boat is SO much better and complex in its flavours without being overpowering. Highly recommend.

Incredibly delicious and authentic - This is a high-density fish sauce
The only things that kept my comrades and me going in our days in Vietnam were the entertainment, beer, and the amazing food of the region. This sauce contains no added MSG, but it adds an amazing umami tone to any food that it's added to. It's just anchovies and sea salt according to the label. It's the best fish sauce I have ever seen outside of sidewalk cafes in Saigon.Just buy it, and use it sparingly. You will not regret it.

Excellent product gives added subtle flavor.
I have used this in many protein dishes to add complexity of flavor I actually found out about fish sauce by watching Chef Ramses. Before his show I was completely unaware it existed. Although I had read about the ancient Romans and other Mediterranean cultures using something called Garum made from fermented fish.

Smooth transaction and product arrived in perfect condition.
Use this fish sauce “neat” over roasted salmon, halibut or scallops, toss with sautéed greens and lemon or blend with butter and smear over a freshly seared steak or lamb chops. It’s particularly good with lime, Red Kampot Pepper and palm sugar as a dipping sauce or salad dressing. Think of it as liquid umami that can be used in marinades, dressings, soups or stews.
