Matt & DanaHot Sausage - Gallon

The insides was to soft.They hav a good taste but not as good as primrose sausages.

Back in the day, my father owned 4 Sunoco gas stations off Route 60 in western New York. When I got old enough he let me run the Candy vending machine. Dads mechanics would come in once in a while with a “Firecracker” sausage. They would bring an extra for me. I loved em and was addicted- lol. I started putting them in my vending machine and they were a hit. After they stopped making them I searched once a year for a while and gave up long ago. All grown up with an IT background I had a craving and did a search which lead me here! I have a very good food taste/texture profile memory and these are 99% there! I was so happy to find these!! Now I read all the reviews on different websites before committing to a 4lb purchase and everyone had good insights. I added 8 tablespoons of crushed red pepper ( this stellar idea was from one of the reviews I read and took the advice), shook it , let it sit for 2 days and that boosted this version of M&D sausage to the 99% mark. I’ll agree they are just a tad mushy but then again if they were just a tad fresher I think they’d be spot on. 100% They are still better than anything I’ve tried up till now. I can’t imagine anything being better. Brought back tons of memories, especially watching friends eat one for the first time and seeing their faces cringe followed by a “wooOO those are strong!” . Definitely an acquired taste but I acquired the taste quickly. Be cautious ordering 4lbs till your sure. Hopefully I helped someone in the same search I was in looking for that authentic firecracker taste.I wanted to note : I did buy the branded firecrackers here off amazon and almost threw them out. The branded firecrackers here on amazon are like picked hot dogs, not my fancy, I’ll eat em but feels forced. The new plan is to throw the rest of them in the 4lb M&D jug juice as room allows it. Maybe it will save them lol.Another plus: my Belgian dog (pic in my profile) loves the M&D’s too! He drools like crazy till I give him a piece and he’s somewhat of a picky eater. Lol

sorry but these are more smokey flavored than hot • someone else may like them but I don't.

The lid was broken but the seal was good. Had another lid all is good to go now. Would have gave 5 stars but lid was damaged.

Decent texture,great taste with just a little heat. Working on my second gallon of these.

Came on time. Well packaged. Too hot for me, as the hot overcomes the flavor of the sausage.

These are really good. Real sausages. Could be a little more spicy. I added some dried red peppers from the store to get em were I wanted em. Good for the price too. unfortunately they only lasted a week because I could not control myself. lol
