It's a large bucket but not crammed tight, so that you can get in and rummage around in it to find what you want. I just had a feeling this is the one for me because of having far fewer chemicals.I tried the chili with a pound of burger and some veggies. It made a lot of food and tastes good. Another thing to love is the fabulous handle on the bucket - extremely comfortable grip on that handle. I think this company will work out well for me.Last night I tried the Vegetable and Rotini Pasta, again adding to it as it's not an emergency. I added a cooked chicken leg and some fresh veggies to keep the salt down for my diet. Very good - these would be a great thing to bring to a church supper if you add more veggies and some kind of meat to them.So, every week I will eat one of the meals I bought, and refresh my supply as needed so I always have some for emergencies. I'm happy.

We bought the Legacy foods a few years back and hadn't had an opportunity to try it out until we went tent camping with our 6 and 8 year old boys this summer. I decided to pack up a few of the dinner and breakfast items to give it a whirl while camping. I loved that they were compact enough to not take up so much space. Two dinners and two breakfasts, just add water, perfect. We took one brick of water that we also have stored. Cooked the noodle dinners and it was almost too easy. My boys and husband loved the meals and we ate till we were full and there was actually a small amount leftover each night. Pancakes were breakfast and we also had leftover from that as well. (And my boys love their pancakes.) I would love to have more tomato based products for variety is my only issue but that's not a complaint at all. Will be buying more!

I am impressed that there are no GMOs, artificial colors, etc. Additionally, you provide a great service in giving peace of mind to people like me in a world of uncertainty and sudden changes of fortune. I found out about this product via the Wall Street Journal, mid-July 2016, article. The article had great things to say about Legacy as far as superior taste, long shelf date and reasonably priced compared to others. I'm putting together a "survival" kit for 2 and this sample pack fit my needs for food variety prep: just open package, put in proper container and add water. There's breakfast, lunch, dinner and dried milk and snacks. I'm going to try one of the dinners to check out the tools needed, time it takes to put together and taste. I'll probably end up dividing the contents between 2 backpacks and storing the remaining food packs in a smaller container.

I bought this product in July of 2016, decided since it has now been 5 years I would try some of it out. I tried the strawberries and they were ok as to be expected having been freeze dried. I tried the Vegetable and Rotini Pasta and that was another story. The pasta cooked ok once I removed the desiccant pack, I prepared 4 servings to make sure the ratios were right etc... The finished product however had a very bitter taste to it, I only forced myself to eat half a bowl which ended up making me sick. My advice, go buy you a couple 20lb bags of great value beans every couple years and call it good, maybe get you some dried white rice and oatmeal too. Don't waste your money on this it's cheaper to just stock dried goods and use them periodically.

We just purchased more from both amazon and legacy. The meat purchased from legacy was $330, and we were shocked with the little amount received. We’ll not purchase meat from legacy again. With the other packs almost all the calories appear to come from carbs such as pasta. The meat purchase is why we didn’t give this 5 stars.
