Helmet Counterbalance Weight Bag for OPS Fast BJ PJ MH Tactical Helmets/Helmet Accessories

Solid counterwight system with some limitations.
This counterweight system is very effective for counterbalancing a set of PVS14s or similar monocular setup. The weights are steel, not tungsten or lead. I don't recommend them for heavier NODs like a binocular setup. For something heavier, you can add a Ziploc bag of lead fishing weights to replace or add to the included weights. Keep in mind that these use the existing screws that hold your rails in place on a FAST type helmet. Many helmets use screws that are not long enough to add this accessory, so you may need a trip to the hardware store for longer screws. This is not really a pouch. The ends are somewhat open with sides that overlap. This makes it easy to conform to the curvature of your helmet.. You can use it to hold a battery if it's large, but not small loose items.

Not for real use.
I was aware I was being cheap buying this instead of something from TNVC or a similar company, but I thought I could replace the steel weights with lead fishing weights and it would be all good. The steel weights are not enough to counterbalance a pair of PVS-14s. Using lead fishing weights I get close. My advice, don't be cheap and buy an actual counterweight if you intend to use this other than a battery pouch.

Works perfectly with just a bit of help
This counterweight pouch is great. It has a pretty simple purpose: hold weight on the back of your helmet. It does that perfectly. The construction seems to be good, and it balances my PVS14 on my team Wendy helmet just fine. The only issue I saw was that the weights inside the pouch were bare metal, and had begun to rust. I removed them, cleaned the pouch, and sprayed three coats of rustoleum on the weights. I'd suggest anyone who buys this product spray or coat the weights immediately to prevent rust. That's the only reason I deducted a star. Otherwise it's a great little pouch for the price.

Good quality
Good quality Nilon, good color, and durable. Not as heavy as I expected, but it has nice bungee loops so I can put whatever weight I want it it. Warning; weights will rust in side. Fits well and is adjustable to different size helmets

Balances my PVS-14 and room for extra batteries.
Really like this counter weight. It's pretty compact and screws in very secure to the helmet with solid construction and velcro. In addition to the weights that come with it, I wanted to put some spare batteries for my PVS-14 and Inforce flash light in the pouch. I managed to fit four AA and four C123 in with the weight. It balances my NVG pretty well and makes it so much easier on my neck.I've heard that the weights will rust so I intend to spray them with some sealer to try to prevent that.

It works?
I feel like they should have been lead weights. They were steel weights. And very sharp unfinished edges. Looks like they just took them straight from the band saw and into the holder. Quality of the holder is nice. I ended up finishing the weights on my bench grinder and beveled the edges so I wouldn't cut my fingers.

A must have it running NODs...
You will need this if running a NOD! Just get it...velcro attachments and can be removed when not running with your optics attached. It helps reduce helmet tension and the post helmet fatigue in your neck. It contains several little metal weights to increase or decrease weight as needed. Cheers!
