The Harvey Comics Treasury Volume 1

These were iconic characters in their time and Casper at least has crossed over into other mediums; the stories retain their charm so they deserve more color reprints of much longer sections of their individual runs; Richie Rich and Hot Stuff deserve the same. That's what this reprint shows us- it falls short but the glimpse that we do get here makes it clear the characters and artists wo did the original work deserve more expose than they're getting- including in this volume. Nice contrast to 2016's more realistic books.

Reviewers have complained about a lack of index, bibliographic information, or introduction; and I agree with that as far as that goes. But consider the positives. These stories are wonderfully reproduced, they really are classic stories, and they exist in no other form than via the original comics. Yes, I wish Dark Horse had included at least issue and artist information (and I took off a star for that), but they are still wonderful - and at about $10.00 bucks, the fit the bill perfectly as addition to the Harvey Classics volumes from Dark Horse.

This is a terrific collection of Harvey comic characters. I agree that an index, and original storyline data, would have been nice. But this is an all color, high quality reproduction of some very good Casper and friends adventures. I have been reading these Harvey stories, to both my children and grandchildren, for many years; they love them. Harvey comics, and many other comic book publishers, often included a rather scattered collection of characters within their publications. I have numerous comics from the 50s and 60s to attest to this. The bottom line is this; I thoroughly enjoy that pleasant feeling of being like a kid again, while reading these extremely enjoyable stories.

It is a joy to watch our daughter giggle as she reads these stories which are so well printed on such nice paper. Too bad they were printed for such a short duration that they can only be found used, and at higher prices due to the illiterate, collectors' market.

I've always loved Harvey comics as a kid & lately got the urge to find some classic stuff to read. I picked this us & was brought back to my childhood. The book is huge as well, so it has hours of enjoyment. Highly recommend it!

If you want just a collection of the old comic books to read, this is a good choice. My kids found my old comics and were enthralled, but those old things are fragile so I was looking for a collection just for them to read. This will do nicely.

I wish that they would keep publishing these books. We would love to see the lil devil get reprinted. Buy this before it goes out of print.

While my grandson has not yet received the book, he is always making reference to Casper ever since i mentioned Casper to him and for that reason i know he is looking forward to actually seeing what Casper looks like plus get a bonus look at a friendly witch as well.

I was and I am a big fan of comic books, I had a big collection as a childand was very happy to find similar comic books on Amazon at such a good deal.It was a fun read and brought back childhood memories. Quick delivery as well.

I love the stories, the pages, the printing, all of it. I hope to purchase volume 3 as well if it is available. For the price, it is a very good buy,
